Mount Songshan was theonly mountain, famous mountain in reincarnated region. Due to its unique geographicsituation and great scenery, Mount Songshan had played an important role in the society ofthe Song Dynasty. People used many different styles to describe its appearance. Ouyangxiu,Meiyaochen, Fanzhongyan, Louyi, Chenshidao and so on, wrote many articles to praise thebeauty of this mountain. These were very helpful for us to understand Mount Songshan beforeone thousand years, especially for the historic monuments of The Center of Heaven and Earth,such as the First Patriarch Temple, the Songyang Colleague, Zhongyue Temple, ShaolinMonastery. The tourist attractions, renowned at home and abroad today, closely related totheir development in the Song Dynasty. Mount Songshan had an important effect on politicsof the Song Dynasty. The sacrifice of Mount Songshan, the legend of Mount Songshan andthe Mount Songshan Complex in the Southern Song Dynasty, showed its role in politics in theSong Dynasty. Three Teachings, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism communicated witheach other and achieved great development in Mount Songshan in the Song Dynasty. A lot ofpeople arrived here to travel, including these historical figures, such as Ouyangxiu,Meiyaochen, Xiejiang, Simaguang, Suzhe. Mount Songshan tourist promoted thedevelopment of literature in the Song Dynasty. On the one hand, Mount Songshan touristenriched the literature content, on the other hand, Mount Songshan tourist promoted new literary ideas and new literary genre. There were a lot of hermits gathered in MountSongshan.They had made good achievements and were widely admired. Part of these hermitsregarded Mount Songshan as a shortcut to officialdom.
