Research On Ji Wenfu’s Academic Thought

As the celebrated philosopher and historian, Ji Wenfu made a great achievement in his academic field thanks to his academic resources which were from two aspects: his worldly teacher and spiritual tutor. In the worldly sense, Liu Cuixuan, as his “thought torchbearer”, led him onto the road of pursuing self-improvement by improving his ability of connecting the history and present which enabled him to get a strong Confucian foundation; Li Minxiu was the one who did a lot to help Ji on his life and research’s direction which laid the foundation for his future success. What the “One Top and Two Mountains” means Ji’s research subjects: Sun Xiafeng, Quan Xieshan and Wang Chuanshan, who were Ji’s spiritual tutors. Wang made a great influence to Ji’s historic and philosophical theories, Quan, as the representative of Zhedong School, influenced Ji’s research methods, while Sun gave more influences on Ji’s self-accomplishments, reading and study.Using the marxist materialism to study ancient Chinese philosophy, is an important content of Ji philosophy research. This content includes philosophy research and the pre-qin scholars Song Ming Qing three generations of Confucianism research two aspects.
