The works of Vasily Vasilyevich Rozanov which involved in many fields were abundant but unsystematic and there was consistent literary criticism in all his life. As an important religious philosopher of silver age, Rozanov was one of the ’’new religious consciousness’ ’ founders. Many topics of new religious consciousness were rooted in his ideas. He was the unique litterateur who innovated the “new style” which had a profound effect on modernism as well as postmodernizm.From religious-philosophical criticism to essay type criticism which abandoned the traditional mode of scholastic, Rozanov gradually formed his own unique style in the process of transmutation.Among this optional criticism, we can see not only a lot of brilliant ideas but also many extreme and one-sided remarks. This dissertation summarized the ideas of the critics and critically accepted his critics ideas in order to fairly evaluate these classical writers on the basis of Rozanov ’s criticism.The literary criticism of Rozanov religious philosophy and literature view are inseparable. With the background and the context between the end of the 19 th and the beginning of 20 th century,This dissertation explores “the religious-philosophical Renaissance” and “ the new religious consciousness” in the Russian religious culture by which to refine Rozanov’s religious philosophical ideas. On one hand, Rozanov incorporates his religious philosophy into the literary criticism. On the other hand, his criticism system is based on his unique literature view and world view. In terms of touching their rich and complex texts, this dissertation attempts to interpret Rozanov’s unique views of different classical authors such as Pushkin, Ghorley, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy to find the thought behind the text and to explore the literary ideas of Rozanov as a whole.
