It’s a comparative study of Jianghuai Mandarin.We select23dialects in Jianghai Mandarin,analyze phonetic differences of the23dialects under Middle Chinese phonetic system.Then, base on the phonetic differences,we study the evolution of Jianghuai Mandarin’s initial,final and tone according to the rules of phoneticsand the history of Chinese speech. In addition,we reconstructthe RecentJianghuai Mandarinaccording to above conclusions and the phonological materials in Jianghuai Mandarin during Ming and Qing dynasty.Besides,we also study frictionization ofconsonant and vowel, drop of medial-u-,nasalization of voweland Chain shift in Jianghuai Mandarin.This dissertation have seven chapters,the main content is as follows:The first chapter introducesgeneral situation of Jianghuai Mandarin,as well as research status,the goal of this study, research methods,material sources and terminology¬ation.In second chapter we partition Jianghuai Mandarin as five parts according to the purpose of this study,then select23behalf dialects,and list their phonetic system.Third chapter combing evolution of initials in Jianghuai Mandarin. We separate initials as eight groups.Main content include types of voiced sounds become devoiced, phonetic types of early initial*v in today dialects,frictionization of initial*t and*th,confusion of*n and*|,palatalization and then apicalization of*Ts and*K,evolution and and then differentiation of*Ts(知) group,phonetic types of early initial*□(日)and the interrelation of the types, merging and then differentiation of*η(疑)、*?(影)、*(?)(喻).Fourth chapter combing evolution of finals in Jianghuai Mandarin.Main content includeconfusion of*uo and*o in Guo(果) group,vowel raise of Jia(假) group,vowel frictionization of Yu(遇) group,merging and frictionization of Xie(蟹) and Zhi(止) group,phonetic types of Xiao(效) and Liu(流)group,nasalization and differentiation of Xian(')and Shan(山)group,merging of Shen(臻) Zhen(致) Zeng(曾) Geng(梗)group,nasalization of Dang(宕) and Jiang(江) group,phonetic types of Tong(通) group.Fifth chapter combing evolution of tone in Jianghuai Mandarin.Summarizemerging and differentiation of Middle Chinese tone,types of differentiation,laxation of Ru rhyme and the shift of Ru tone to other tones,reconstruction of early tone system.Sixth chapter is monographic study. Section one study frictionization of*T(端)group,*n(泥) and*|(来)group,*T(? group,*h(晓匣)group,*0(疑影喻) group and*i&*y.Also point outgeographical distribution and the impetus of this changes. Section two study the drop of medial-u-,describe it’s extent, geographical distribution,initial condition and order.Section three study nasalization, research on it’s extent and process.We also study nasalization of Monophthong. Section four study chain shift of vowels,includingvowels’diphthongization,monophthongization and centralization,well as their extent interrelation.Sixth chapter is reconstructionof RecentJianghuai Mandarinphonetic system. Base on the conclusions of chapter three to five, according to phoneticfeatures of Jianghuai Mandarin’s coreregion,also reference the four phonological materials at Ming dynasty, undercomprehensive analysis and choice of above factors,we reconstruct Recent Jianghuai Mandarin phonetic system,and set it’s time as central Ming dynasty.At last,we summarize the train of thought,main conclusions, innovation and deficiency of this dissertation.
