The “everyday life”(le quotidien)was radically criticized and animatedly discussed during the 20 th century. It is today still one of the important issues for theoretical thinking and artistic activities, especially within the context of neoliberal globalization.French writer Georges Perec lived through a period when the critique of everyday life was one of the most important ideological trends. He kept creative writing and everyday practice for more than twenty years. He was heavily influenced by important theorists at that time, such as Henry Lefebvre and Roland Barthes. As a member of Oulipo(Ouvroir de littérature potentielle),he has written a number of brillant works by using constrained writing techniques. Through his writing and other activities,Perec interpreted the dynamic relationship between writing(literature)and everyday life. He has explained that the everyday life is full of potentiality for both creative activities and a diffrent lifestyle, only if we pay more attention to it and try to grasp it with some techniques and tactics. The works and tracks that he left has showed us these techniques and tactics. This thesis analyzes Perec’s everyday discours and practice by dividing his literary career into four major parts. His four types of writings(sociologique, ludique, autobiographique, and romanesque)as well as both his individual and collective activities are covered. In the meantime, this thesis carries out a survey of the connetions between Georges Perec’s practice and the contenporary art(artists, creation, exhibition) that flourished since the 1960 s, then puts forward that Perec is also a contemporary artist for his problematic consciousness, contemporary consciousness, and his creativity. He kept responsing his time by raising questions, describing details and doing experiments. His discourse, works and practical experiences can still serve as menthods and instruments for us to re-perceive, re-define and re-create the(extra)ordinary everyday, to explore the unlimited possibilities of our everyday life.
