The thesis discusses the relationship between culture and aesthetic of pop songs in the nearly three decades of changes in the socio-political and cultural ideas in mainland China,1978-2014. Through cultural and aesthetic analysis of pop songs,and the interpretation and interaction of social and cultural trends and psychology, to examine the aesthetic and cultural laws of Chinese contemporary pop songs and the various problems in its development.Thesis is divided into four chapters. We teasing out the cultural trace and the overall characteristics of the pop songs’ development in the past thirty years in the first chapter.The second chapter mainly from three aspects of lyric subject, mental attitude,cultural consciousness of pop songs in the thirty years, to perspective of how the pop songs’ s presentation of the changes of social culture.The third chapter grasps the change of internal form of pop songs from three aspects of type, image and form, in order to interpretate the evolution of art forms of pop songs in the past three decades.Chapter IV analyzes the impact of the aesthetic tension and art forms of contemporary pop songs through the structure of contemporary culture and the environment, trying to explore the internal logic of the three decades pop songs from a higher level.The conclusion is that the cultural and aesthetic evolution of pop songs in mainland China in the past three decades can be the mirror of observation of music associated with the times, society and spirit and getting a glimpse of contemporary Chinese society spirit and consciousness changes.In the first ten years of reform, the humanistic spirit was rekindled, with the new values and cultural awareness, but in recent years due to changes in the overall environment of popular culture, pop songs also appeared exaggerated, vulgar and other problems of the lack of value. Creations of contemporary pop songs should exhibit and increase local human spiritthe to make the humanistic spirit of weightlessness returned to its rightful position.
