The Transnational flowing of Chinese cinemas, is a small stream in the history of China’s social transition, it reflects the difficulties and confusions facing our national main body in the process of modernization.Before the 80 s, the discussion of transnational flow is more pay attentionto the influence of western film in China, Early 80 s until now, we discussed the transnational flowing of films, focuseson an outgoing process of "going out". After 2000,there is a backflowing of national films in the transnational flow of film. On the whole, art film is a very important medium in the transnational flowing of film. It provides the world with a variety of cultural imagination about China in the framework of national cinema, However, the discussions in recent years related to transnational flowing of films are mainly industry research, the type of aesthetic and cultural research-based, lacking of historical research, the meaning of art films are mostly limited to Case Study of the award-winning movies. Writing this article is intended to Study the transnational flowing of Chinese films from the perspective of art film. By means of art film multinational experience summary and reflection since new period(1979-2010), to respond to the rather urgent proposition of Chinese films "going out".This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the specific circumstances of art film transnational flowing from 1979 to 1984.This dissertation thought that “thought liberation” after the end of the Cultural Revolution and the artistic theme changes from the “class”to”humanity”,changed the film-making.The emergence of two movie wave of innovation for the art film provided a background of transnational flowing.It was in such a context,it appeared a group of Chinese art films which have won awards at the international Film Festivals.This dissertation provides an overview of the overall situation of Chinese art films transnational flowing of this period,the statistics of the awards that art film have won at international film festivals in these five years,and analysis of the government and academia’s views about the film transnational flowingin this period,and finally the paper discussed the domestic reflections of the film transnational flowing arfer the analysis of several widely acclaimed films overseas,such as South of the old. The second chapter focuses on the specific circumstances of art film transnational flowing from 1985 to 1994.This period is divided into three phases.The first stage is 1985 to 1988.The second stage is 1988 to 1991.The third stage is 1992 to 1994.The paper focuses on the relationship between cultural trends and art filmtransnational flowing at Every stage,and choose those films which has significant social effects as texts,analyzing their transnational flowing of the process and the comments on these films at home and abroad,as well as the power games in the whole process. The third chapter focuses on the specific circumstances of art film t transnational flowing from 1995 to 2010. This period is divided into two phases.The first stage is 1995 to 1999.This section discusses the changes in the domestic cultural trend,as well as the impact of such changes on art film transnational flowing,and analyzes the decline of a local Chinese cultural imagination paradigm which was created by the fifth generation of filmmakers,and the rise of narration about towns and urban bottom of society created by the sixth generation of filmmakers. The second stage is 2000 to 2010.This section mainly discusses how the pattern of the Chinese film transnational flowing was changed by the globalization trend and development of the film industry,and the various discusses on the expanded international development of domestic film.In the case of martial arts film actively explored the international market,art film continued to get the West’s attentions,on the other hand actively seeked effective ways to return to the local market,and the returning of art film proved can feedback the development of the domestic films.
