A Research On Categories Of Negation In Language

Negation is constantly the object of logics, psychics, linguistics, and other disciplinary studies. Compared with affirmation, negation is more complicated in its meaning attribute and form expression. The research object of this paper is the language negation, including the traditions in linguistics and cutting-edge negation theories,focusing on the latter, and the analyzed corpus is Russian-oriented, and gives consideration to Chinese in many situations. The paper aims to make comprehensive theoretical interpretation and linguistic description of the negation category in language.The cutting-edge theories are employed from a new perspective to conduct a research on the language negation problems, which is not only the process of indicating negative expression meaning mechanism, but also the process of verifying and perfecting relative negation category theories. The whole paper contains four chapters of general introduction to negation, relation between negation and presetting, and statement and implication, classes and interpretation of negative sentence, and metalinguistic negation,which mainly interprets the presetting, statement, implication and negative scope – the core concepts of the language negation category researched in the modern semantics;the negative sentence’s grammar classes and semantic classes as well as the negative sentence with common predicate, negative sentence with local predicate, common negative sentence from words, and local negative sentence from words’ classification standards in semantics and grammar and distinctive characteristics; two main types of overall negative sentence and fundamental negative sentence in the non-standard negative sentence; all kinds of variation theories in the metalinguistic negation research and metalinguistic negation theories in overthrowing semantic framework. The key points that this paper researches and interprets are the overall negation, fundamental negation, and the metalinguistic negation to overthrow semantic framework. Especially the overall negation and fundamental negation theories, they have not been introduced to the linguistics circle in our country up to now, not to mention using them to analyze the contemporary Chinese language.This paper incorporates my personal opinions in the process of interpreting the negation category theory, and the author conducts the inter-lingual comparison to a certain extent, and discloses the common features and inter-lingual differences between Russian and Chinese in the form of example sentences, which provides theoretical reference and linguistic analysis thought for the Chinese negation problem solution by using overseas linguistics theories and has certain practice meaning for Russian teaching, dictionary preparation, computer language information handling, and other subject fields.
