From the Warring States to the Han dynasty, color theory and traditional Chinese thought from embryo to maturity. It is a long time of Han Dynasty’s unification and social stabilization, economic recovery and prosperity that provides a good opportunity for the maturity and development of the Han Dynasty’s Chromatics altogether. That the governors of the Han Dynasty respected Confucian culture and Inherited the traditional thinking of being celestial and Chu culture constitute color system of Han Dynasty. Under the influence of a variety of thoughts, the Han Dynasty elevated the role and function of color to an unprecedented height, and even made the color as an important tool to distinct grades and emphasize the etiquette. No matter from the theoretical background or from the wish of the ruler, all these can be shown that Han Dynasty’s color theory indeed reached a high attainments. And there is no doubt that excavating of its value and the confirmation of its position have significance. After the Han Dynasty, due to the strong development of Taoism, particularly affected the color conception. The concept of "color" did not live in another form of existence and the traditional strong color did not gradually withdraw from the stage of history until Sub-colored Ink was proposed in Song. This also reflects the importance of color in the Han Dynasty and mythological color of this historical period is given a high status in the history of Chinese color. Due to the fewer Han Dynasty relics with colors and scattered distribution,Only underground tomb murals are well preserved and there is the overall distribution of the amount and surface providing opportunity for the study of the Han Dynasty’s color. The above points are precisely the motive of the study of the Han Dynsty’s color in separate age, as well as making the tomb murals as a starting point.China’s actual use of color has quite a long history, although, compared with Western color science, has not yet formed a very complete system of color science, and color issue in academia did not get enough attention.The emergence of a wealth of archaeological material and color examples provides an objective basis for this theme that concerning colors. A lot of discovery and excavation of the mural tomb of Han dynasty, would need to be protected and repaired, the color is one of the most important issues. But the reality is that protection and reparation lacking reliable and abundant guidance and attention, there is a certain blindness in this way. This situation is worrying.Therefore, based on the above considerations, this paper comes up with the color theory, of course, this is an attempt. It has been talked about, the theory of color coordinate system in China is different with the system in West, apart from the color which it must be involved in, and also contains more complex cultural factors, social factors and so on, which is the system theory brings together in multiple concept.This paper finds the common problem in the color of the mural tomb of Han dynasty by the formation of the concept of color and its effect on fresco colors, the classification and characteristics of the color of murals tomb in Han dynasty, the paints and the techniques analysis of the mural Tomb in Han dynasty, the color matching of fresco, the theoretical construction and practical significance of color system theory of Han dynasty, contains these fife parts.Study on the color of the mural Tomb of Han dynasty, not only for the color itself, but the exploration of the hidden factors behind the colors presents, so the colors can be put in the considerations throughout this era. The The combing and improvement of the elements of color provides the foundation for the structures of coordinate system theory of Han dynasty, as well as it is the most important content. Of course, the involving content may also be incomplete, inadequate, and only hope to provides some references for the study of the color theme to date, draw some academic attention. In addition, the appearance of the color theory and deepen of its content, not only for the study of the Han dynasty, and also provides reference for establishing a totally different Chinese color science system from the Western color science.
