This paper researches on the color language in Chinese painting and only rational scientific research can help us to know the nature of color.The evolutionary process of different expressions of color language is related to the language elements order in the picture and color language change constructs different trajectories of art history development.This paper attempts to put modern Chinese painting color language into Chinese and western language system so as to carry out comparison and find out the current condition as well as development trend of Chinese painting's color language.First of all,judging from the ontology of color language,different color systems occupy different positions in Chinese and Western color esthetics.In early times,both Chinese and Western color systems are made up of local color system which is also called color contrast system as well as subjective color system.However,western color system pays attention to the light and dark contrast to shape the volume changes.Since the impressionism,western countries started to adopt conditional color system to show pure color language and carried out research for practice,which lead to the first explosion of color language in western art country.The local color system and subjective color system are integrated to become realistic color and impressionistic color systems which cannot be separated from the theory of painting to praise spirit and focus on meaning.Therefore,Chinese paintings focus on the construction of artistic conception as well as the image expression of psychic color.The color language in Chinese painting is established based on the China's traditional color concepts as well as western color experience,aiming to reconstruct the color system of Chinese painting.Secondly,Chinese painting color pursues two-dimensional plane which is related to space expression of Chinese painting theories and material of traditional Chinese painting.The formation and development of any language cannot be separated from the material development and the history of art is also the history of materials.Finally,in the last chapter,this paper studies on the influence of modern Chinese painting material on Chinese paintings' color language development.The experience of Chinese and western artistic history tells us that the painting history contains language relation,reorganization of language elements which help to form language deepening law and the key is to adjust the mode of artistic thinking and select genetic elements.From another perspective,painting is the combination of epistemology and methodology and any system cannot be separated from the organic combination of understanding methods and application of method.The crossing of different ways of understanding and application shall ignite new results as well as new concepts,criterion and language.This paper studies on the color language of Chinese painting from these three perspectives and explore the artistic nature of color language based on the transformation of modern cultural value.Painting techniques have outstanding individual features and the usage of color is close to the nature of painting,language rules,language relation and language order,which put more weight on the spirit thoughts of color language era to explore the reconstruction of the color language of modern Chinese painting.
