Since 1990, along with the profound transformation of society and culture, the status and role of intellectuals are becoming more and more prominent with its representation of "who are intellectuals" and "what should they do "being the debate target in the theoretical circle on one hand and on the other, the narrative of novels on intellectuals demonstrates a very prosperous status and presents great literary and social influence. Identity Theory has a strong interpretative ability to these problems. Focusing on the mutual relationship between writer’s identity recognition and the narrative of novels on intellectuals in the Post-New Era, this thesis analyses the influences of writer’s identity recognition on novel’s narrative theme, strategy, style, moral principles, etc, and then gives an analysis to the influence and significance of narrative on writer’s identity construction. The Introduction part briefs the origin and significance of the topic, the main research results and research status, related core concept, this paper’s innovation as well as the basic research ideas.According to the survival context, thought resources, self statement and the novel’s content of the writers in the Post-New Era, the first chapter classifies the writer’s identity into four kinds:marginal identity, enlightenment identity, literature identity and religious identity. Based on their own life experience and identity, writers of this novel elaborate the holding and seclusion of the intellectual’s enlightenment identity, the prominence and mist of their secular identity, the defeat and defense of their aesthetic identity and the appeal and bias of their religious identity. During writing various identity choice and dilemma of intellectuals, the writers expresse their review and reflection on intellectuals and themsleves. The third chapter states the narrative strategy, narrative ethics and style of the novels on intellectuals. Disease narratation is one important and despised narrative strategy, which exists " gender division ", namely, the physical and mental diseases of male intellectuals being often due to political and economic problems, whereas women intellectuals’diseases being often caused by gender politics. The ending of the intellectuals novels in the Post-New Era mostly lack the principle of hope, which shows that the writers have reached an agreement for the defeat and style of utopia spirit and the creation subject itself is a general lack of utopian spirit. The style of the intellectual novels in this era generally tend to popularization and recreation and the "elite style" has been declined but obtained variation and development through the characteristics such as humanization, philosophization and cross-style writing. The fourth chapter discusses the following issues. As an important existing and identification construction style, literature discourse practice makes creation subject find to a certain extent a sense of meaning and belonging. At the same time, the novel narrative also limits the forms, directions and effects of its discourse practice and forms a kind of paradox tie between its literary identity and other identity. Novelists have to not only return to their intellectual identity but also stick to their literature identity in order to realize its realistic and aesthetic appeal. The final part summarizes the common narrative blind spots and vauel of intellectual novels in the Post-New Era. And point out the research deficiency.
