Study On The Cultural Self-Improvement Approach Of Communist Party Of China

The hypothesis of studying the culture self-improvement approach of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is that culture self-improvement of the CPC does exist. As a Marxism political party, CPC has always been paying attention to Party culture cultivation since its inception. During the 90-year revolution and construction, it insisted on cultural self-consciousness, emphasized self-relied culture, demonstrated culture confidence and realized culture self-improvement.Culture, culture of the CPC, culture self-improvement and its approach are the most important basic concepts and the cornerstone for the whole theoretical research. Culture is the activity that people pursue free, comprehensive, equal and harmonious development in the production and life practice, which is represented in three forms, namely consciousness, norms and image. The culture of CPC refers to Party founding and governing activities to obtain and wield state power for a long time, achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the prosperity of the country and the Chinese people’s free and comprehensive development, including the consciousness, norms and image for founding and governing the CPC. Culture self-improvement of the CPC, means the CPC governing activity process in which the CPC consciously establishes and takes the initiative to change the consciousness, norms and image, to make the Party organization grow from weak to strong, whose essence is to make the Party strong with the culture. The CPC’s culture building approaches refer to the routes, methods, procedures and movements for culture self-improvement adopted by the Party during its growth from weak to strong. Chapter 2 redefines culture and other related concepts, and based on this, the research framework of culture self-improvement approach is constructed.Chapters 3 and 4 are mainly diachronic researches, i.e., studying and analyzing the culture creation and self-improvement process of CPC in a panoramic view. The selection of culture self-improvement approach and strengthening of the Party are finished in the era change. This paper makes all-round elaboration and constructive analysis under the macro-background of Chinese and foreign cultural exchange history since modern times and cultural globalization, modern national democratic revolution history and cultural renaissance of the Chinese nation, the development history of world modernization and Chinese modernization development process. This paper always centers on the "Party culture" and emphasizes that it is the "overall approach" to strengthen the Party, including the culture self-improvement approach of Marxism revolutionary party and that of Marxism ruling party. Under this premise, this paper further explores the three basic approaches of the culture self-improvement of CPC, namely the consciousness, norms and image, which are the first-tier approaches. Only by studying Party’s political history, the development history of Marxism, the history of the CPC, can we be clear about the feature and content of CPC culture self-improvement approach. The characteristic of the revolutionary party’s culture self-improvement approach is to realize the Marxism revolution culture self-improvement during the process of leading the revolutionary activity, namely adhering to the Marxism theory of revolution, building Marxism norms, shaping the Marxism revolutionary party image; the characteristic of the ruling party’s culture self-improvement approach is to realize the automatic transformation from the revolutionary party to the ruling party, and realize the culture modernization of Marxism ruling party, i.e., the modernization of the consciousness, norms and image.The survey on and study of culture self-improvement approach must be raised to the level of rule. Chapter 5 explores the advanced culture for strict Party governing based on its rule. Culture self-improvement approach system must be designed to be advanced, mass-oriented, modern, ethnologic, scientific and legitimate, including four subsystems, namely Marxist philosophy, studies of Chinese ancient civilization, western learning, the history of the CPC, as well as three subsystems covering the consciousness, norms and image. The consciousness concerns psychology, spirit, values and theory; the norms concern psychology, Party morality, Party law, and national law; the image concerns substance, impression and symbol. Cultivating the advanced culture for comprehensive and strict Party governing is the new understanding of culture awareness, the new feature of culture confidence and the new requirement for culture self-improvement.In short, as the governing party which always represents the development direction of Chinese advanced culture and the fundamental interests of most people in China, CPC must constantly innovate the culture self-improvement approach to keep the competitiveness of culture of the Marxism ruling party, exert the political representative function and institutional function that any other organization never has.
