On Guanlong Writer Wu Zhen In Qianlong And Jiaqing Period

The paper takes Wu Zhen as the research object, because he was the most important writer in the period of Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing period in Guanlong area. While collecting his works and biographical information, I discovered his five works collections that never be noticed by others, such as of Songhuaan Complete Works of Jiaqing edition, Travelogue of Wu Zhen, and hand copied version of the Wu’s Family Genealogy and other valuable information. Based on these materials, I checked all his works and recompiled his chronicle; and formed a good foundation for comprehensive research on Wu Zhen. The paper researches Wu Zhen’s life, literature creation and friendship with other writers, in order to understand Wu Zhen and his literary achievements comprehensively, and then takes Wu Zhen as the research center, explores the reason of literature prosperity in Gansu area in Qianlong and Jiaqing period.The paper consists of ten chapters. Chapter one is Wu Zhen’s life, according to newly discovered works and information, such as his works collections and genealogy,combines with local chronicles, supplies some of his unknown or misplaced deeds for chronicle. The second chapter is textual research on the works of Wu Zhen, mainly introduces the newly discovered works collections: The Third Anthology of Song Ya manuscript; Songhuaan poetry; Songya Poem Recorded,and their literature value,Studying on these collections’ version and description information. The third chapter mainly discusses literary activities about some writers around Wu Zhen in Guanlong area, analyzes Wu Zhen’s academic literary activities, activities of Tao Yang poetry club and literary creation, and then analyzes Wu Zhen’s contribution to the prosperity of poetry at Gansu in the Qianlong and Jiaqing period.From the fourth chapter to seventh chapter, the paper mainly discusses Wu Zhen’s social life from four aspects: his teachers; communication with the mainstream of literary circle; exchanged poems with other poets and cultivated talents. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the Wu Zhen’s interaction of his teacher Niu Yunzhen and LiYoutang, focuses on their influence on Wu Zhen’s literature creation. Niu Yunzhen affected Wu Zhen’s poetic style view; Li Youtang guided Wu Zhen’s sentential poem writing. The fifth chapter mainly discusses Wu Zhen’s communication with the mainstream of literary circle in Qianlong and Jiaqing period. Wu Zhen studied poetic theory from Yuan Mei and Yang Fangcan, he inherited the reasonable factors of style of poetic theory and agreed with the natural disposition of poetry writing. The sixth chapter mainly discusses his exchange poems with his teachers and friends in different periods when he studied in Lanshan academy, travelled in middle-aged and taught in Lanshan academy. Chapter seven focuses on the discussion of Wu Zhen’s influence to the younger generation of Gansu, he cultivated some writers such as Zhang Hui, Wu Shi, Wang Guangsheng, Liu Ren, Hua Chun Li Wu Chengxi, Li Bao etc.Chapter eight to chapter ten is thematic studies about Wu Zhen’s literary creation.Eighth chapter explored Wu Zhen’s three different poetic style under the influence of poetic theory in Qianlong and Jiaqing period. Wu Zhen’s early poetry were mainly about his experiences, then his poem gradually changed to vigorous and elegant, his own style feature was more obvious, his lyric poems were combination of style and spirit, forming its own artistic features. Chapter nine focuses on Wu Zhen’s poem, he created a new style of poem writing and made great contribution for the literary prosperity of the middle Qing Dynasty. Chapter ten discusses Wu Zhen’s prose artistic features, he wrote prose as poem, focused on expressing emotions, and his prose has strong poetic characteristics. Wu Zhen loved history, his prose writing was influenced by narrative techniques of Sima Qian’s Historical Records, paid attention to the prose structure and composition, pursued narrative techniques, his articles were concise, and narrative feature was also prominent.Appendix includes Wu Zhen’s family pedigree chart, chronicle profile and investigation of Wu Zhen’s communication and friendship with other writers and friends.
