China's Socialist Social Construction Basic Question Research

Strengthening social construction is an important content of building a socialistharmonious society. With the further reform and opening-up at new stage of newcentury and with the overall development of market economy, new socialcontradictions, social phenomena and social demands continue to emerge due to theadjustment of social structure lagging of the adjustment of economy structure. Theconflict between social development and economic development has been aggravatedconstantly. Aiming at this situation, the important strategic target of building asocialist harmonious society is proposed in the fourth plenum of the16th CPC CentralCommittee, and enforcing social construction and management is the importantmeasure to realize the grand goal. In recent years, social construction of improvingpeople’s wellbeing has already caused the great attention of our Party and country,and has aroused the extensive concerns of the society.Evidences indicate that the overall layout of the socialist cause with Chinesecharacteristics has involved developing not only socialist market economy, socialistdemocratic politics, socialist advanced culture but also socialist harmonious society.Along with the increasing importance of social construction, it has become anecessary and urgent task. Undoubtedly, China has entered a new stage of overalldevelopment and the research on socialist social construction related problems is ofgreat significance in theory and practice.Guided by Marxism and the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics, in lightof Requirements of Scientific Concept of Development and human-oriented thoughts,analysis and study on socialist social construction are given in this paper, aiming tobuild a socialist harmonious society and realize the comprehensive constructionwell-off society. The main contents of each chapter are as follows:Preface: Theoretical and practical significance of the selected issue. The presentresearch situation and existent insufficiency are introduced systematically. The basicideas, innovative points and main research methods of this paper are also pointed outin this chapter.Chapter Ⅰ: Concept, connotation and significance of social construction. Firstthe narrow definition of social construction is distinguished from the generalizeddefinition, on this basis, the position and function of social construction in social development are investigated, and the significance in theory and practice of oursocialist social construction is given.Chapter Ⅱ: Theory basis and ideological premise of socialist social construction.The excellent social construction-related thoughts in Chinese traditional culture andWestern culture and the views of classical Marxist writers on social construction aresummed up.Chapter Ⅲ: Social construction thought and practice of the Communist Party ofChina. The continuous innovation of social construction theory and the unremittingexploration of social construction practice at different periods in history are reviewedcompletely.Chapter Ⅳ: Main contents of our socialist social construction. From theperspective of narrow social construction, the main contents are discussed creatively,which include the construction and improvement of social security system,development of social undertaking, reinforcement of social stability and innovation ofsocial management and so on. Their function, characteristic and position in socialconstruction system are also expounded in detail. This chapter forms the maininnovative points of the paper.Chapter Ⅴ: Outstanding problems and solving paths of our socialist socialconstruction. The main problems are analyzed in detail, which mainly consist ofunfair social distribution, the great difference of income among residents, thewidening gap between the urban and rural residents, slow development of social pubicservice system and social organization, the existing problems of social managementand so on. And the corresponding countermeasures are presented aiming at theseproblems above.Chapter Ⅶ: Fundamental experience and principles of our socialist socialconstruction. The fundamental principles of our socialist social construction are putforward on the basis of the historic experience and lessons home and abroad. At theend, a scientific prospect is made based on reality.
