ABSTRACT:This thesis focuses on the education of Marxist faith in higher education and the subject invested under study is contemporary college students. In this thesis, there are mainly two aspects. The synchronic study from the aspect of education concentrates on the meanings, characteristics, types, functions and other theories of believes to define the nature and characteristics of the Marxist faith, and then based on it, the author analyzes the basic characteristics of the Marxist faith education as well as the meanings of Marxist faith education in universities; diachronic study by taking an overlook of the historical development, examines belief education background as well as the situation where Chinese contemporary college students find themselves in. In the study, the author points out the existing problems and accordingly proceeds to search for the solution to the problem of principle and content-education and approaches that could be adopted in Marxist faith education in universities.This thesis follows the basic procedure of concept-introduction to system formation and logic-development from problems to strategies.First, by taking into the account of the solid belief needs, intensive belief competition and various statuses taken by various believes, the author points out the theoretical and practical significances of the Marxist faith education in universities and presents his research ideas and methods as well as difficulties and innovation on the basis of present research results. Second, from the aspect of education, on the basis of a brief introduction of its meanings, characteristics, types and functions, the author emphasizes on the nature and characteristics of the Marxist faith, and goes on to analyzes the basic characteristics of the Marxist faith education as well as the imports of Marxist faith education in universities. Thirdly, going over three stages of development in the Marxist faith education, starting from its beginning period of establishment, to its time of difficulty and belief crisis and to its reconstruction, this thesis offers an account of the historical development of the Marxist faith education in universities since the foundation of New China. Above that, under the context of globalization, information society and social transformation in China, the author presents the challenges and opportunities faced by current Marxist faith education in universities, and summarize the basic experience of Marxist faith education in universities since the foundation of the People’s Republic of China. In addition, facing up to the popular of diversification and utilitarianism in the selection of beliefs among subjects of Marxist faith education in universities and educators who themselves suffer from belief crisis and charm crisis, the author exhaustively analyzes and elaborates the status quo and the main problems of the Marxist faith education in universities, and discusses three aspects probed into the cause of these problems from the college students, educators and social environment In conclusion, the author sums up that Marxist faith education in universities still has a long way to go. Finally, on the basis of the researches to improve the overall quality of Marxist faith, the author puts forward the basic strategies from four perspectives, principles, contents, methods and channels. The four basic principles concerned are:the subject-oriented principle, object-oriented principle, systematic principles and long-term principle; the three aspects to elaborate the basic content of Marxist faith education in universities are:the innovation content selection, the innovation content system, and the innovation content expression; the three methods to innovate the Marxist faith educations in universities are:theoretical instillation, scenario immersion and perception; apart from the existing channel, the thesis also provides another expanded channel to achieve the Marxist faith education in universities.
