Under the guidance of Marxist Theory, the present thesis applies the theories of education, culture, political science and so on to make a further discussion on the formation of cultural diversity and its main features, on the basis of which an initial illustration on the importance, historical development and the current challenges of practice of college students’ socialist core values is presented and followed by an analysis on the problems existing in college students’ practice of socialist core values under the background of cultural diversity and its causes, as well as its goals and principles. Finally, the present thesis probes the basic ways of practice of college students’ socialist core values under the background of cultural diversity from the propaganda education, the cultural influence, the demonstration and guidance, practical acquisition and mechanism construction. On one hand, the present thesis reveals the academic connotation of the word "practice", on the basis of which it clearly defines practice of college students’ socialist core values under the background of cultural diversity; on the other hand, it indicates that cultural diversity refers to the process and trend of the mutual collision, mutual communication and mutual learning among more than two kinds of cultures in a certain society or the international community. And then the thesis clarifies the importance and historical development of practice of college students’ socialist core values under the background of cultural diversity from the perspective of the "problem consciousness", comprehensively analyzes the problems on college students’ practice of national level target value, social value orientation and individual level value standards and its causes from the aspects of college schools, the society and the college students themselves. What’s more, the thesis illustrates the three-level targets and "Four insistence" principles of practice of college students’ socialist core values. Finally, the thesis makes a probe into the ways of college students’ practice of socialist core values on the whole. Or rather, the propaganda education is its Cognitive premise; the cultural influence provides spiritual support for it; the demonstration and guidance is its external thrust; practical acquisition is its key link; mechanism construction provides the necessary security for it.
