Change Of Rural Folk Sports Culture

This essay systematically explores the historic change of Chinese folk sports culture and scrutinizes the recognition of folk sports culture starting with epistemological foundation at operation level through deep description of "local knowledge"——TUCUN dragon dance with the help of relevant anthropological theories and methods.On the basis of this case,this essay metaphysically concludes the laws and paths of folk sports culture change and advances some considerations to reconstruct rural folk sports culture in combination with the change of ancient Olympics to modern Olympics,old Yangko to new Yangko and traditional dragon boat to athletic dragon boat.The result shows that:1.Civic sports mean the sports activities which haven’t yet developed with highly organization,systematization,and specialization in certain people’s daily life.Traditional sports mean the sports culture which are already created and can be inherited and changed by historic condensation.Folk sports are the cultural body,which are modeled, life-styled and ritualized,shared and inherited by certain people,they are not only sports culture but life culture.Ethnic sports are a kind of traditional sports culture jointly owned and shared by one or several ethnic groups or special part of an ethnic group with forming the ethnic identity consciousness.Civic sports can be divided into traditional sports and non-traditional sports.Most of folk sports and ethnic sports are crossing but not the same.2.According to the investigated case,the history of Chinese folk sports culture can be divided into traditional period(before the Land Reform), declining period(before the Cultural Revolution and after the Land Reform),withdrawal period(during the Cultural Revolution),short period of rejuvenation(after the Cultural Revolution to about 1990) and re-declining period(from about 1990 to now).The developing situation of folk sports culture is closely related to its social background.The basic reason of folk sports culture change lies in the relationship between the requirements of its owners and the meanings loaded by themselves. 3.The law of folk sports culture is the following dynamic process:folk sports culture——deconstruct——remove/preserve/introduce part of forms,contents and functions——reconstruction——"change forms, preserve contents and functions"/"change contents,preserve forms and functions"/"preserve forms,change contents and functions"/"preserve forms,remove contents and functions".4.The changing paths of folk sports culture has the following ones: "change forms,preserve contents and functions","change contents, preserve forms and functions","preserve forms,change contents and functions" and "preserve forms,remove contents and functions".5.While reconstructing our rural folk sports culture at present,we should pay attention to the following points:the premise is to update the concepts;deal well with the relationship between peasants, governments and social organizations;follow the law of folk sports culture change;differentially treat folk sports culture and choose different developing paths;the emphasis is to transfer the functions of folk sports culture,highlight its own unique feature and attach importance to the unity between times and ethnicity,set satisfying people’s life requirements and promoting world sports culture development as the target of reconstructing rural folk sports culture.
