In the report of the Nineteenth National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech on attaching importance to the excellent traditional culture of China.He pointed out that the socialist culture with Chinese characteristics originated from the excellent traditional culture of China for five thousand years.In the process of Chinese revolution,construction and reform,he has consistently inherited,promoted and promoted the excellent traditional culture of China.Folk sports is a unique culture produced in a specific natural and cultural environment,carrying the genes of Chinese national culture,is the crystallization of Chinese people's diligence and wisdom,is the accumulation of China's long history,is a wonderful flower in Chinese folk art.It is not a pure sports activity,but a reproduction mechanism,which plays an irreplaceable role in building a harmonious society.However,due to the dual influence of western competitive sports and modern culture,folk sports has always been a marginal culture.How to better inherit and develop folk sports is worth thinking about.In this context,based on the principles of operability and convenience,this paper selected Xugou iron stick as a folk sports activity to study.By using the methods of documentation,case study,field investigation and other research methods,and drawing on the relevant theories of folklore,sociology and anthropology,this paper makes a case study of Xugou iron stick back activities.The development course of Xugou back iron stick activity was studied and analyzed,including the formation,development and rheology of Xugou back iron stick,the evolution of utensils,etc.The participants and ordinary residents of Xugou back iron stick activity were interviewed in depth,through their oral materials,the significance of Xugou back iron stick activity in different periods was understood,and the face of Xugou back iron stick in the process of modernization was revealed.The dilemma and challenge of folk sports have explored the deep-seated reasons affecting the survival and development of folk sports.The study found that:(1)Folklore is a common life culture inherited by certain people.The integration of "folk custom" and "sports" refers to a localized,ritualized life culture,which is displayed in the form of physical exercise and competition.It is a special cultural form in which the essential connotation of sports is integrated into and attached to the customs and habits of people's daily life.(2)Village society and folk sports are mutually beneficial.Folk sports are constructed on the basis of a certain production and lifestyle of village society.Villages provide a carrier for the development and prosperity of folk sports.Folk sports can also export fitness and entertainment functions,ethnic identity and cultural cohesion functions,economic and social functions,as well as cultural and cultural functions for villagers' living needs.?(3)Xugou iron stick is a folk sports activity with typical Sanjin culture in Shanxi folk villages.It sprouted in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties and belonged to the content of Bai Opera in its early stage.After continuous evolution of form,content andfunction,it became a folk sports activity with modern significance and unique artistic style,and was praised as "silent drama" and "air dance and acrobatics".(4)With the rapid development of our society and economy,the nature of Xugou iron stick activities is also changing.On the one hand,the government is indifferent to folk sports activities,and its support is declining.Folk sports activities can only develop according to the self-organization of villages and serve production,life and humanistic education.On the other hand,the inheritors of folk sports activities have to follow the trend of the times to develop their economic functions and take commercial performances because of the gradual disappearance of the parasitic soil of iron stick activities.The road of development.Village folk sports walk on the edge of culture.(5)Folklore sports which survive in modern times always show a common feature,that is,preserving the folklore and the times.Xugou iron stick activities can not be abandoned by society because they always serve the social construction.The specific performance is that village women can strive for social status and resolve the conflict of unequal status through this activity;villagers who can hardly keep up with the pace of development of the times and are almost forgotten by the society can refresh their sense of existence through this activity;and the government always uses this activity field to publicize the national policy system and achieve village governance.(6)The significance of folk sports to villagers is that the traditional way of life has been broken,new ideas of thinking,value orientation and lifestyle have gradually formed,which has brought about the tension of interpersonal relationship between villages,and the loss of people's self-loneliness and meaning of survival.Xugou iron stick activity carries villagers' expectations of reunion of children,recognition by society and villagers,and communication between villages.(7)The function of folk sports always changes with the changes of society,reflecting the brand of a certain era.The
