With the rapid development of mobile payment in recent years, near field communication (NFC) especially the "NFC on subscriber identity module (SIM) Card" model has been studied for various excellences. However, several challenges that exist relate to weak signal strength, limited power availability and the space limitation within the SIM Card format. This increases the difficulty of "NFC on SIM Card". This paper gives the research of "NFC on SIM Card" by studying the channel model of mobile-phone and suggests a solution of implementation through a sticker on battery.Firstly, the communication channel of NFC based on the SIM card is discussed. An improved transformer model is proposed as the channel model according to the properties of handset structure. A simulation of coupling index is given in the next section through the IE3D software.Secondly, this paper computes the system SPEC according the the magnetic coupling index and the NFC protocol. Based on the SPEC and property of communication, the RF transceiver on SIM card and the RF front-end circuit on sticker are given. And some critical module in the transceiver is discussed and given solution.Thirdly, a system simulation including the transceiver on SIM card and receiver on sticker is finished. The simulation results of every module are given under time zone and frequency zone respectively. According to the simulation, every circuit parameters are optimized for CMOS chip design.Lastly, the feasibility of chip implementation is discussed. And the high prescision carrier clock recovery circuit and multimode power amplifier are studied. Under the help of Quanray Electronics company, the chip on SIM card is Fabricated in SMIC0.18-μm EEPROM CMOS process. Measurement results validate the function of circuit.
