Research On The Firm Knowledge Governance Mechanisms And Utility In Chinese Strategic Emerging Industries Base On Open Innovation Perspectives

Knowledge governance plays an important role in promoting knowledge activities of internal firm and firm innovation networks. In this study, based on strategic emerging firms and their employees as research subjects, it studies internal firm knowledge governance and its utility, and knowledge governance of firm innovation networks and its utility.First, related literature review has been made systematically on open innovation, knowledge governance of internal firms and firm innovation networks, knowledge sharing, knowledge transfer, the relationship between knowledge governance of internal firm and knowledge sharing, the relationship between knowledge governance of firm innovation network and knowledge transfer, and relevant mediating variables and moderating variables. On the basis, it elaborates the weak points of existing study and provides research subject of this study.Second, based on the literature review and the characteristics of the research, this dissertation integrates and designs knowledge governance mechanisms of internal firm, including formal knowledge and informal knowledge governance, and knowledge governance mechanisms of firm innovation networks, including market mechanisms, social mechanisms and hierarchical mechanisms. Then, this dissertation builds utility test models of both knowledge governance mechanisms of internal firm and knowledge governance mechanisms of firm innovation networks.On this basis, we develope and revise scales which are needed in our research.Third, this dissertation empirically tests the utility test model of knowledge governance mechanisms of internal firm. according to surveying336employees from strategic emerging industries, this dissertation, from employee cognitive perspective, empirically researches the relationship between knowledge governance, knowledge sharing and employee innovation behavior, and particularly analyzes the mediating of social capital between knowledge governance and knowledge sharing and the moderating of absorptive capacity and knowledge integration. The results of this study show that firstly knowledge governance plays a key role in knowledge sharing, secondly, social capital plays a whole mediating role between knowledge governance and knowledge sharing, thirdly, knowledge sharing, absorptive capacity and knowledge integration positively influence on employee innovation behavior, and finally, that knowledge integration negatively moderates the relationship between knowledge sharing and employee innovation behavior while the moderating of absorptive capacity is Non-significant. The results make a theoretical and methodological contribution to the study of knowledge governance and can thus improve knowledge governance impact in practice of Chinese strategic emerging industries.Forth, this dissertation empirically tests the utility test model of knowledge governance mechanisms of firm innovation networks.This dissertation adopts a questionnaire survey for485research staffs and middle-top managers from107strategic emerging firms of Wuhan City Circle and the Perl River Delta region in China. Then this dissertation constructs moderating effect models of government support, open innovation on the relationship of knowledge governance and knowledge transfer. It also makes an empirical research through path analysis, structural equation model, and hierarchical regression analysis. The conclusions of this paper includes:(1) Knowledge governance of Firm Innovation Network (including market mechanisms, social mechanisms, hierarchical mechanisms) has a significantly positive effect on knowledge transfer.(2)Government support has a negative moderating effect on the relationship of knowledge governance of firm innovation network and knowledge transfer. Open innovation has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between market mechanisms, hierarchical mechanisms of firm innovation network knowledge governance and knowledge transfer while it has an insignificant effect on moderating the relationship between social mechanism and knowledge transfer.(3)Compared with social mechanism and hierarchical mechanism which have a significantly positive impact on knowledge transfer, the effect of market mechanisms on knowledge transfer in Wuhan city circle is not significant. However, the impact of market mechanisms, social mechanisms and hierarchical mechanisms all have a significantly positive effect on knowledge transfer in Pearl River Delta region. There is an interference effect between government support and market mechanisms, social mechanisms, hierarchical mechanisms in Wuhan city circle. However, there is no such interference effect in Pearl River Delta region. Open innovation has significant effect in promoting firm knowledge governance in two regions.Next, on the basis of research conclusion, this study elaborates the enlightenment and suggestion of knowledge governance mechanism of firms’internal including formal knowledge governance and informal knowledge governance. Next, it puts forward relevant suggestion for formal knowledge governance mechanism of emerging strategic firms from four aspects of organization in structure, reward system, job design and lead ship. It points out the key point for attention when emerging strategic firms when designing informal knowledge governance mechanism, from five aspects of networking, firms’culture, management style, organization justice, as well as management support. It elaborates the important role of mediating variable in effect model within knowledge governance mechanism, absorption capacity of moderating variable and knowledge integrating. This study also elaborates knowledge governance mechanism of innovation network enlightenment and suggestion, including market mechanisms, social mechanisms, hierarchical mechanisms. What’s more, this study puts forward practical recommendation for designing knowledge governance mechanism for firm’s innovation network and its role playing in knowledge governance effect from these three aspects. It then elaborate the significance of mediating variable of social capital,moderating variable of government support and firm innovation openness in utility model of firm innovation network knowledge governance.Finally, this study makes summary and discussion for research results. According to the research process, this paper describes the study limitation and the prospects for future research.
