In this paper, we selected the N-and carboxylate-containing ligands with transition metals to construct new coordination complexes, and thirty eight new complexes have been successfully synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), elemental analysis (EA) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). Their structures have been analyzed by topological approach, and their thermogravimetric, magnetic, photoluminescent and ferroelectric properties have also been studied. According to the organic ligands, five parts of the main content can be found as following:1. Complexes1-10were constructed from flexible dicarboxylate ligands and rigid bis(imidazole) ligands (Chapter2). Complexes1-3are three two-dimensional (2D) structures based on the helical chains. Complexes4-7are four three-dimensional (3D) structures, and complex7is a polynuclear Ni(II) complex containing both pentanuclear and mononuclear components. Complex8is an unprecedented2Dâ†'3D net with coexistence of polycatenation and polythreading based on the T-shaped bilayer motifs. Complex9is a2D (4,4)-sql net. Complex10shows a1D ladder-like chain and extends as2D (4,4)-sql net via hydrogen bonds. And the thermogravimetric property, magnetism of7, photoluminescence of2,3,6and9have been investigated.2. Complexes11-19were constructed from5-amino-isophthalic acid (AIP) and bis-or tri-(imidazole) ligands (Chapter3). Complexes11-14are two pairs of Co(II) complexes controlled by metal-ligand ratios. When changing metal-ligands ratio, the AIP ligand presents various coordinated modes and results four different structures. The magnetic properties of11and14have also been studied. Complexes15-17are three complexes based on AIP and rigid bis(imidazole) ligands. Complexes18and19are two3D structures constructed from AIP and tri-(imidazole) ligands, and the photoluminescent property of19was studied.3. Complexes20-27were constructed from5-nitro-isophthalic acid,1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and pyridinedicarboxylic acid with N-donor ligands (Chapter4). Complexes20-24are five polynuclear structures, complexes20and21 are2D and3D structures based on linear trinuclear units, complex22is a3D (3,8)-connected tfz-d net based on the Cu4units, complex23is a2D (4,4)-sql net based on the Mn2units, complex24is a2D (3,6)-connected CdI2net based on the Zn4units.25-27are three simple complexes with1D or OD structures. The magnetic properties of20-23and photoluminescent properties of24-27have also been studied in detail.4. Complexes28-32were five structures based on the5-amino-1-H-tetrazole (5-ATZ) ligand (Chapter5). Complexes28and29are isostructural mononuclear structures with the noncentrosymmetric space group, both structures like a propeller, their magnetic and ferroelectric properties were investigated. Complexes30-32are constructed from5-ATZ with carboxylate ligands, complex30is a (4,6)-connected2D bilayer,31and32are two3D structures with (3,3,4)-and (4,4)-connected topologies, the photoluminescent properties of30-32have also been studied.5. Complexes33-38were constructed from N-donor ligands with inorganic metal salts (Chapter6). Complexes33-35are constructed from tri-(imidazole) ligands,33is a3D (3,6)-connected net,34displays as a1D chain,35is a2Dâ†'2D polythreaded structure based on the63-net, the photoluminescent properties of33and35were investigated. Complexes36-38are constrcuted from tri-pyridine ligand with SCN-anion, which all display OD structures, their magnetic properties have also been investigated.
