Modern architectures were built in order of their sizes and plane turning for the structure function and plastic art, complex structure of tall and low building was one of the important building styles in this period. Because of the great height difference between the tall and low building, the loads and rigidity are not consistent that causes great differential settlement for the raft foundation. Usually the high and low building was built on a integral raft foundation. If the differential settlement would affect performance of the building and cause breaking up of the basement, that was important to the designer. So far research on this topic is very rare.The model experiment is used to study the structure-foundation-soil interaction for the complex high-rise building of tall and low levels in this paper. The results of the experiment are listed below:(1) Based on the large scale model test, the tall and low levels of the complex high-rise building interact each other. The interaction regions of the tall building and low building are seldom affected by Lateral load, the maximal value is3spans.(2) The contact pressure and settlement of the complex high-rise building of tall and low levels structure with thick raft foundation are positive deflection curve. They can be draw by the tall and low individually.(3) The inclination of the tall building increase with the increase of the differential load of the both sides. When the differential load reaches a certain value, The inclination of high-rise building may exceed the specification limits. So the inclination may be the control condition for the raft foundation deformation of the complex high-rise building.(4) The juncture of the tall building and low building is the weak region because of stress concentration, so the raft foundation should be strengthened in design.A FEA program is used to analyze the structure-foundation-soil interaction for complex high-rise building. It presents a specific solution for the structural stiffness and loads of the tall and low building. The total contact pressure and foundation settlement of the complex high-rise building can be calculated that uses the method for interaction.
