This traditional sound is compared with the characteristics of the virtual orchestral music. The purpose of this comparison is to determine differences between the traditional acoustic instrument and the virtual orchestral technology. The analysis will include a review of the virtual orchestral software design ideas and concepts, as well as virtual orchestral music production methods including sample playback production technology as a means to carry out a more detailed technical experiment of contemporary Hollywood Library series timbre and Vienna Instrument Pro Software. This analysis addresses tone production and control technology research in order to reveal the best orchestral sound production methods. From this researcher’s point of view, the virtual orchestral technology and the traditional acoustic orchestral analysis contrast aesthetically. The analysis culminates in a discussion of the future impact and further development of virtual orchestral technology. This article summarizes the virtual orchestral technology, aesthetic considerations and applications, research and development. Although the virtual orchestral technology cannot replace the traditional orchestral instrument, it can contribute significantly to the field of music composition and music education. This research serves as a significant contribution to the field of virtual orchestral technology research and can serve as a leader in the development of Chinese Instrumental Timbre software development.
