The contemporary Chinese feminine poetry has developed in a long and zigzag manner and shows different contents in different developmental phases. In most cases, vitality is showcased, and works which cater to the general public contributed, remarkable achievements attained, thus enriching the art of Chinese contemporary poetry. Since New Age, the writing of contemporary feminine poetry has opened up new fired of Chinese new poetry and the possibility of poetry art with its unique aesthetics and artistic expressions, and, together wiith male poetry builds up the glory of the cometary’s new poetry. Especially since the beginning of new century, Chinese contemporary feminine poetry has reached a new higher standard in terms of more writers’participation, the quantity of new works, and social influence. However, compared to the developments and achievements, up till now, its related in-depth systemic and comprehensive analytical researches are far behind the female poetic creation, and there has long been a lack of in-depth comprehensive or theoretical research.The thesis focused on the latest critical theories and methods of feminism literature, and shows a systematic and comprehensive summary and research of the developments, history, and literary trend of commentary female poetry with art critical methodologies such as hermeneutics, new critical method, psychoanalysis, and structurism. And an in-depth analysis and interpretation of representative poets, classical texts, poetic schools during various developmental phase is given as well in the hope of giving a comprehensive, systemic, and in-depth research on history, artistic features, and the expression of female consciousness in the female poetry.The Introduction mainly shows major originalities such as the general idea, basic assumption, research methodology, and selected topic value. It also defines and explains such common concepts as feminine literature, feminine poetry, and female consciousness on the basis of the latest developments and the achievements of women’s studies and feminist literary criticism, and it also briefly illustrates the feasibility of researching the contemporary Chinese feminine poetry from a male’s perspective.Chapter One offers a discussion of the awakening of female consciousness in cotemporary China, the representations of female consciousness in the cotemporary feminine poetry, and briefly analyzes the occurrence and evolution of the concept of feminine poetry. It also summarizes the female poetry’s traditions, detailedly analyzes the specific representations and manifestations of female consciousness in different developmental phases of female poetry since New Age.Chapter Two mainly discusses the feminism representations in the Chinese feminine poetry after New Age from a gender perspective, thoroughly discusses its confrontation and coexistence with male-dominated culture, the feasibility of feminine poetry’s role in eliminating gender consciousness, as well as the new crisis in the identity anxiety. It also analyzes the feministic poets and their works on the basis of specific works of different styles, investigates the situation, developments and changes of contemporary Chinese feminine poetry in the context of gender culture, and discusses the development trend and law of feminine poetry changing from confronting gender culture to merging with it. From a gender perspective, the female consciousness in the cotemporary Chinese feminine poetry presents itself differently in the form and connotation at different phases, expresses a strong gender culture, and foretells the development trend and common aspiration of males and females coexisting harmoniously and making progress together.Chapter Three thoroughly investigates the characteristics in the psychological construct of Chinese feminine poetry and the special relationship from three aspects:1the expression of inner emotions,2the expression of ideological concerns.3the richness of the unconsciousness, specifically speaking, compared to males, females are better at and more suitable for creating poems, especially in the writing of love-themed poems. In the meantime, feminine poetry is also outstanding in the conveyance of ideology and the rational thinking of life and the world. Especially after1990, t their works are as rich as works by male counterparts in terms of ideological contents and intellectual qualities. In addition, the female poets also showcase the mysteries and richness of the unconscious world, thus showing the intriguing female inner world and achieving attainments that expand the artistic boundaries of poetic art.Chapter Four summarizes the characteristics of female poetry, digs deeper into the influence of women’s psychological construct upon their poetry-writing, and showcasing the special charm of female poems. In addition to the subjective colors in the linguistic characteristics, a special syntax and sentence pattern, feminine poetry is also characteristic of creating certain images. Their deep psychology and cultural causes, artistic connotations, aesthetic values are worthy of exploring and analyzing. Furthermore, through comparison and analysis of the same/similar imagery features which are different due to the differences in gender, Chapter Four also explores and analyses their artistic characteristics and the inherent law of complementation of female writings and male writings. In addition, it also gives an in-depth analysis of the effect of female consciousness upon the language and imagery of female poems.Chapter Five has selected such four representative female poets as Cui Yongming, Zhao Lihua, Han Yan and Yu Xiang, analyzes their ideology and creation features, in-depth investigates the influence of female consciousness upon their works’ideology and artistic features, discusses the effect of female consciousness upon the law of female poems’ creation, in the hope of exemplifying and verifying the previous research achievements as well as screening the literature of these female poets and attempting canonizing the poems.Chapter Six discusses the current misunderstandings about the contemporary Chinese feminine poetry, the likelihood of future development of feminine poetry and reveals the importance of female consciousness upon female poetic creation through an exploration into the reason why feminine poetry shows masculinization, as well as an analysis of the female poets’ wish and efforts to transcend the gender boundary. And, on the basis of feminine poetry developments, this chapter also discusses the future development of feminine poetry and the question about whether or not the tradition of feminine poetry has formed.
