For the translation part, I have selected four chapters under the chronological title "1968" from Liz Byrski’s novel Bad Behavior. Given the setting and the theme of the excerpt, gender and translation should be taken into consideration. Throughout my translation practice and proofreading of the translated work, I replaced "patriarchal discourse" with "matriarchal discourse" and represented the female author’s "western feminine voice" in "Chinese feminine voice". For the translation criticism part, I reviewed the whole procedure and reflected on the history and status quo of the composition and translation of women’s literature as well as the influence it exerts on women’s "consciousness raising" and liberation movement.
