The research of poetry of Ming Dynasty is always a weak link in the area of Chinese conventional poetry, but also a particular field worthing further study. This thesis focus on Ming Shi Zong, one of the representative poetic anthology. Through the methods of the study of philology, literary and art, and intellectual history,this thesis attaches the emphasis on the emendation,textual research and the compilation of MingShiZong, but also lays attention to the further research of poetry themselves in the view of literary and intellectual history. Therefore this thesis deals with five issues as follows:first, describing Zhu Yizun’s family background, lifetime, friends writings and the collection of books, to show the particular background of Zhu Yizun; Second, investigating the motive, the process,the versions through ages, the compilation and collection of documents of Ming Shi Zong, to illustrate Zhu Yizun’s theory of poem, and to show the differences and common points of different versions, the scope, type and the characteristics of the compilation of Ming Shi Zong; third, trying best to collect all the relevant materials and then correct123errors in poets’ biography, discover one poem that is appeared twice and three poem that are wrongly collected in Ming Shi Zong, and collate more than300poetry anthologies with Ming Shi Zong; record175collating notes of54poets as well. At the same time, revealing the theoretical implication of Ming Shi Zong, in order to show it’s critical attitude, methods and central issues and draw out it’s collection and collation in the institutions, customs and the association among literati of Ming Dynasty. Finally, probing into the profound reseach between the purpose of Ming Shi Zong and academic atmosphere during the late Ming and early Qing periods, to prove its prominent position in academic history. At the end of this thesis, there are three appendices which paly an important part in this thesis but also each appendice possesses their own value.
