Brick is a wonderful portrait of the ancient Chinese folk art, with a high historical value, cultural and artistic value. From the perspective of literature and philology, this article analyzes portrait brick art theme, artistic practices, artistic features and aesthetic concepts, trying to compare the research literature.This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is the portrait tiles to define the concept and nature.
