Socialist value and socialist values are important content of socialist theory, an important reflection of socialist spiritual civilization, a striking symbol of the soft power of socialist culture and the core spirit of socialist system. Socialist Core Value System was first put forward and generalized in the sixth plenary session of the sixteenth central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), while Socialist Core Values were further put forward and generalized in the eighteenth national congress of the CPC. The socialist core value system and socialist core values put forward by the CPC are important content of the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics, an important reflection of China’s socialist spiritual civilization, a striking symbol of China’s socialist cultural soft power and the core spirit of China’s socialist system. The establishment of socialist core value system and socialist core values are significant both in theory and in practice for adhering to and developing socialist theory with Chinese characteristics, for consolidating and developing socialist system with Chinese characteristics and for adhering to and completing socialist road with Chinese characteristics.Mao Zedong once said that the theory of Marxism shall be mastered and used, and the purpose of mastering it lies in using it. This is a right principle in researching the theory of Marxism and Socialist core value system.As important components of China’s national ideology, socialist core value system and socialist core values have an important function of nurturing new generations of people for socialist system, which brings forward the common criterion for the people’s values and behaviors as well as brings up many new generations of people in China. To fulfill socialist core value system and socialist core values is a significant project facing the people and the CPC, which is of striking social value and practical significance in building a civilized, democratic, harmonious and strong socialist country.The youth are the future of a country and a nation. Whoever wins the youth over can win in the future.college and university students are the core of youth, the pillar for China’s construction and development in the future as well as the constructors and successors of China’s socialist undertaking. Their values not only affect the mainstream values of China’s society to a large extent but also determine China’s future and destiny to a large extent. Therefore, it is a key task to integrate socialist core value system and socialist core values into the ideological and political education for college and university students and cultivate them to become qualified constructors and successors for China’s socialist undertaking. At present, against the background that socialism is at an inferior position compared to capitalism in the world, this task is very striking facing the continuous permeation and invasion of the western value system and values.With the basic theory and methodology of Marxism as guidance, the related theories and practice in constructing and nurturing core values of college and university students under the guidance of socialist core value system are analyzed and demonstrated in this thesis, which adheres to the principle of combining theory with practice, adheres to the perspective of unifying mastering and using, focuses on illustrating socialist core value system and socialist core values as well as aims at promoting the practice of socialist core value system and socialist core values. This thesis is composed of an introduction and five chapters.In the introduction, it is pointed out that the putting forward of socialist core value system enriches the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics greatly and shows a clear direction for constructing core values of contemporary college and university students; in addition, the influence of international and domestic situation on the construction in the ideological sphere in China as well as the main problems in core values of contemporary college and university students are analyzed, thus the significance of constructing core values of contemporary college and university students is put forward. The main purpose of the research in this thesis is expounding the guiding effect of socialist core value system and socialist core values in the cultivation of qualified constructors and successors for socialist undertaking from the perspective of the combination of theory and practice, moreover, the basic way of integrating socialist core value system and socialist core values into core values construction of college and university students is explored and researched through the comprehensive analysis on the features and regular pattern of the forming and development of values of college and university students.
