The ideological and political work of colleges and universities is related to fundamental problems that how to cultivate people,what kinds of people to cultivate and who cultivate for.College counselors are an important force in the ideological and political work in Colleges and universities,who are shouldering the important mission to cultivate students to establish a correct outlook on the world,life and values,and they have an important influence on the growth of college students.The pedagogue must be educated first.College counselors in order to complete their mission,to achieve the objective of cultivating talents,they must establish the correct outlook on the world,life and values first.The report of 19 th CPC National Congress point that,core socialist values represent the contemporary Chinese spirit and are a crystallization of the values shared by all Chinese people.To cohesion value consensus with the core socialist values is an important foundation to realize the great revival of Chinese nation.College counselors are professionals who specialize in the ideological and political work of college students,and they have dual identities as teachers and administrators,Due to the particular characteristics of College Counselors’ work,College Counselors to establish the core socialist values is not only the national requirements and expectations,but also relate the College Students to cultivate and observe the core socialist values.The main points are as follows:First,according to analyze the related concepts of core socialist values,discusses the theoretical source of core socialist values,and researches the connotation of core socialist values.The important contents in this chapter include deepening the understanding of related concepts of values;clarified the status and role of core socialist values in the development of the society;discussed the relationship of the Marx doctrine,the Chinese excellent traditional culture,and the western advanced cultural achievements with core socialist values.The content for one hand is conducive to deepening socialist core values of Science,on the other hand,is more conducive to the understanding of the close relationship between core socialist values and the construction of college counselors.Second is to analysis the necessity to set up core socialist values of the counselors.One is through the analysis of college counselors’ professional characteristics,starting from the initial establishment of the system of university counselors,summarizing the college counselor system for the contribution of Chinese talent training,explaining the relationship between college counselors’ occupation orientation and the core socialist values.The two is starting from the analysis of the reality of college counselors’ work,as counselors to help students establish a correct outlook on world,life,the values of the duties,as the students have good moral qualities and behavior responsibility.Therefore,the establishment of socialist core values by college counselors is the practical need of the work.Third,we made an investigation on the college counselor.According to the relevant survey data,currently the college counselors in ideals and beliefs,political beliefs,moral level,dedication and other aspects of the overall are positive.But according to the survey we also found some problems exist in the part of the College Counselors,including the life target,value goal of pragmatism,occupation moral decline and occupation burnout and etc.The reasons for these problems include the impact of social transformation and cultural diversity,college counselor’s system construction,ideological construction is imperfect,lack of self education of college counselors and etc.The investigation and analysis proved that it is very realistic and necessary for college counselors to set up the core socialist values.Fourth is to puts forward the path of college counselors to set up core socialist values.The theory of learning path is emphasized in the combination of Marx’s classic learning theory and sanitization of Marxism and its theoretical achievements;learning methods should pay attention to the combination of the traditional learning methods and modern methods;by improving the training system,evaluation system and incentive mechanism to establish the institution of setting up core socialist values;the social practice path includes the three way that are basic exercise,post exchanges,short-term training of college counselors;culture path is to counselors occupation culture,to achieve healthy personality education and humanistic concern;the path of cultural edification is achieved by building professional culture of counselors,carrying out healthy personality education and Infiltrating Humanistic Care.In conclusion,the exploring of college counselors to establish core socialist values is propitious to promote college counselors to cultivate and practice the core socialist values.College counselors establish core socialist values will further promote the university personnel training work lay a good foundation for college students to cultivate and observe core socialist values,but also provide effective protection for the university to realize the training goal of morality education.
