The Arab Maghreb Union is located in the northern part of Africa, wasestablished in February17,1989. Maghreb is a proprietary geographical name inArabic means "the West" is collectively referred to as the history of North Africa,Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Between Mauritania and Libya the big Maghrebaddition to the three foreign. The region belong to the Arab nation, a population ofnearly60million. There are five members are Algeria,Libya,Mauritania,Moroccoand Tunisia. UMA level of economic development of the five countries in Africabelong to the upper level, but is still a low level relative to the global annual averageeconomic growth rate for the five countries are more than10%. In2011, Tunisia’seconomic growth rate was5.3%,4.7%of Mauritania’s economic growth rate,Algeria’s economic growth rate was3.8%.The countries of the Maghreb Union foreign policy of good-neighborliness andfriendship, neutral and non-aligned foreign policy, the policy emphasis ondiplomacy and pragmatic, balanced and mild effect of international relations. Thecountries of the Maghreb Union advocates the establishment of a just, fair andreasonable new international political and economic order. This foreign policy reflectsthe nature of their pre-Islamic Arabia and Africa. Maghreb Union countries focus onthe development of relations with the European Union and the United States. In recentyears, continue to promote the building of a free trade zone with the EU. Up to now,the members of the UMA Tunisia has in more than130countries in the world toestablish normal diplomatic relations. Five countries of the Maghreb Union andFrance, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Malta in November1990to establish a "5+5 dialogue relations, aimed at strengthening cooperation between development,maintenance of the western Mediterranean regionpeace and security. November1990(Rome) and October1991(Algiers) held two foreign ministers’ meeting,Houyinluoke incident and Western dialogue between the parties to interrupt. With thesolution of the Lockerbie issue,"5+5" the third, the fourth meeting of the foreignministers’ meeting in succession January2001(Lisbon), in May2002, held inTripoli. Horse Union20th Council of Foreign Ministers welcomed the WesternMediterranean countries and the countries of the Maghreb "5+5" Summit held inLibya "5+5" Speaker of the National Conference held in Tunis in2003. Visible, thefive countries of UMA’s largest trading partner is the EU countries, however, inrecent years, the UMA countries and China economic and trade exchanges morefrequently, UMA investment increased year by year.2011, China has become thelargest trading partner of the members of the UMA, Mali, Mauritania, and also theother member states of Algeria country’s major trading partners. Although the level oftrade and economic development of the countries of the Maghreb Union far more thanthe past decade, but still there are many serious constraints and shortcomings.The author of the paper is divided into three parts, seven chapters, research anddiscussion on issues of trade and economic development of the Arab Maghreb Unioncountries. The first part is the introduction, the paper introduced the background andwriting significance, and analysis of the literature review, and expressed their viewson the advantages and disadvantages of the related literature review, there-introduction, the author also of the entire paper writing ideas, structure andwriting methods are described and an objective analysis of innovation and weaknessesof paper; from Chapter II to Chapter VII of the positive theory part of the thesis, inthe second chapter, the author of regional theory of Economic Development, thecountries of the Maghreb Union as a regional economies, the development ofeconomic and trade relations with other countries and its own economic level, mustbe good regional economic development theory as a guide, the author in this chapter, respectively regional balance theory,the theory of regional economic imbalances,regional division of labor theory,growth pole theory and accumulation of causaltheory; In the third chapter,the author of the five countries of the Maghreb Unioneconomic development research,analysis of the history and current situation of theeconomic development of the countries of the Maghreb Union,and to explore thecountries of the Maghreb Unioneconomic development problems in; fourth chapter isthe most important content of the paper, in this chapter,I analyzed the countries ofthe Maghreb Union External Trade Development history and foreign tradedevelopment status, respectively,a representative of the Arab countries, Europe andthe United States and China trade relations research; Chapter I on trade and economicdevelopment of the countries of the Maghreb Union influencing factors were studied indetail, the Maghreb Union countries is conducive to economic and tradedevelopmentfactors as well as factors that hinder the development of the Maghreb Union countries.The favorable factors including energy resources,market development potential;adverse factors include political factors backward instability in the level of economicdevelopment, poor infrastructure,a single trade structure; Fifth chapter analyzes theadverse factors,the sixth chapter the author gives the corresponding recommendationsand the development of UMA foreign trade measures,such as the political situationstable horse Union countries to strengthen economic reforms,improve the level ofeconomic development, strengthening infrastructure construction improve the trafficenvironment,expanding foreign trade openness as well as efforts to attract foreigninvestment; analysis by the research, the author of the countries of the MaghrebUnion and Arab countries, some European and American countries as well as China’seconomic and trade development prospects awakened predictive analysis,the trend ofglobal economic development,trade and economic development of the countries of theMaghreb Union will turn for the better,the level of economic development willimprove stability,foreign trade volume will also have a lot of growth; Finally,theconcluding section of the paper,the authorthe conclusion summarizes the entire paper describes the view,and a description of the problem not been analyzed in the paper aswell as analysis of existing inadequacies,in order to continue to improve in futureresearch.
