As one of the four ancient civilisations in the world.China has a splendid history with rich culture heritages.All the kinds of numerous archives,books,old calligraphy and paintings left by history are important and valuable for understanding and inheriting human civilisation.Previously,the ordinary equipments for cllection of paper-based culture heritages were paper boxes,wooden boxes,iron cabinets and satins,etc.However,these collection facilities are flammable,prone to insect and moldy,and have no functions for buffering acid and oxidation gas from the air.Therefore,the thesis aim at overcoming the drawbacks of traditional collection fittings by exploring flame retardant performance and adsorption performance of materials after the modification.Furthermore,in the view of the technique and technology,the thesis is plan to improve functions of fittings in the fire prevention,insect-resistant,mould-proof and acid resistant.All is expected to lay a foundation for their industrialisation.The thesis consists of six chapters in the whole:Chapter ?:In this chapter,the development history of-cultural relic archives fittings and analysis the reason of cultural relic archives diseases and preventive measures were introduced.Furthermore,the flame retardant materials and adsorption materials of fittings,and analyses the causes of disease about cultural relic archives,were didcussed.In fact,there are serious security risks in the two aspects of scientific collection and environmental protection and disaster prevention.Therefore,it is important to design environmentally friendly fittings with multiple functions,e.g.fire prevention,insect-resistant,mould proof and acid resistant,etc..Chapter ?:Formaldehyde removal process in raw material man-made board to prepare fittings was investigated.Several techniques,e.g.SEM and energy spectrum analysis.FTIR.XRD,universal material testing machine,super depth of field microscope and video optical contact angle were used to explore morphologies,structures,and composites in man-made board before and after being wiped off formaldehyde,and effect of raw material,temperature,time and humidity etc.on the release of residual formaldehyde were studied.The results indicated that new method clould deeply remove formaldehyde without any damage the mechanical strength and physical and mechanical performance of treated materials.Chapter ?:The methods of fittings raw material wood and man-made board for inflaming retarding were invistigated.Ultrasonic technology was applied in the procedure of the wood penetration.The experimental results of the wood drug loading,anti-loss performance and mechanical strength indicated that ultrasonic technology could significantly improve the wood impregnation performance.Chapter ?:The flame retardant properties to fittings raw materials,wood and man-made boards were explored,and "four precautions" solution and osmotic treatment wood materials by ultrasonic technology were studied.Fire resistance property of wood was evaluated by several methods,e.g.fire tube,oxygen index and vertical combustion method,etc.The results indicated that raw materials have good flame retardant properties after systematically analysing by the comparing with wood combustion experiment and overall fire prevention experiment.Chapter ?:The adsorption performance of cultural relics fittings was invistigated.Firstly,the preparation technology of carbon materials and their properties have been studied in this section.Using acid free ghatpot paper as raw material,and sprays nanoscale carbon colloids on the pros and cons of papers,the adsortion papers used in protection of archives were prepared.The resulting papers were soaked in inflaming retarding solution to make them exhibit perfect performances in the fire prevention,the insect-resistant,the mould proof,and the acid resistant.Following this procedure,paper bags were produced by using the ghatpot paper,the carbon ghatpot paper and the inflaming retarding solution treated carbon ghatpot paper,respectively.And then,artificial accelerated aging experiment was carried out to test the mechanical strengths of papers by placing them alone in bags;Secondly,the fittings' mould proof performance by adopting a certain productive technology and soaking fittings materials were explorated.And then the fittings' insect-resistant and mould proof performance were evaluted.Thirdly,acid-resistance of fittings was also studied in brief.The examined fittings were firstly placed under oxidative gas and acid gas for a while.And then the buffer capacity and illustrates the wooden fittings buffering capacity in acid environment were determind quantitatively;Acidic gas adsorption performance of man-made board box was studied finally in this section.Acidic gas adsorption degrees of patterns inside box and place boxes in acidic gases environment were explored by checking the box inner surface and outer surfaces of the boxes and patterns which inside box for examining the adsorption performance of man-made board box.Chapter VI:This chapter focuses upon the research and development of the cultural relic archives collection fittings,and embarks the selection of the equipment types.The archives collection fittings made based on this invistagation have been successfully used in many projects to collection of cultural relic archives.
