This study was focused on atmospheric pollutants in Tongling,which is a typical mining city along the Yangtze River in China.The meteorological observation data in recent 30 years and environmental monitoring data in recent 2 years of Tongling were collected and analyzed.In addition,the atmospheric particulate matters(PMs)were collected.Sophisticated instrumental analyses of these samples were performed.Obtained experimental results was interpreted in the framework of meteorological science,environmental science,atmospheric science.The characteristics and influencing factors of atmospheric pollutants in Tongling were investigated.Moreover,the relationship between the formation of atmospheric pollutants and meteorological condition was studied.This work can provide theoretical basis for the atmospheric pollution prevention and control in complex terrain city.(1)Based on the characteristic analyses of climate change in recent 30 years in Anhui province,it is indicated that wind speed and atmospheric stability are mainly influencing factors,the variation characteristics of atmospheric dispersion capability and the corresponding influencing factors were investigated.(2)The spatial variation of six pollutants including SO2?NO2?CO?O3?PM2.5 and PM 10 is mainly influenced by industry layout.The diurnal variation of atmospheric pollutants can be divided into two types including "unimodal distribution model" and "bimodal distribution model","bimodal distribution model is mainly influenced by anthropogenic activities.(3)The temporal and spatial variations of elements and PAHs in atmospheric PMs were analyzed.In addition,source analysis indicated that motor vehicle exhaust,coal combustion and biomass burning are the main sources of atmospheric PAHs.(4)The variation trend of atmospheric pollutants under different wind speed of<1m/s?1?6m/s and>6m/s were investigated.(5)The variation characteristics of mixed layer depth,pollutant concentration and time were investigated,we can conclude the relations between the maximum diurnal variation of pollutants and mixed layer depth show negative relevant,in addition,the impact of mixed layer depth on the PM-bound and gaseous pollutants were discussed,respectively.(6)Based on the study of temporal variation of river-land wind,it is suggested that the low atmospheric pollutant concentration near the Yangtze River is mainly attributed to the river-land wind,which facilitate the transfer of pollutants from bank to city.Moreover,the impact of turbulence wind energy(Ev)caused by the river-land wind was suggested.
