The Research On Urban Fringe Landscape Architecture Space Characteristic

Since a series of problems such as the deterioration of the ecological environment appear in urban fringe with the development of urbanization, the implementation of the concept of'Ecological Civilization and Beautiful China"has been more and more important in this region. In2011, Landscape Architecture became First Level Discipline. Demonstration Report for Adding Landscape Architecture as the First Level Discipline released by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council pointed out that the landscape architecture whose basic mission is to coordinate the relationship between human and nature has great support to the construction of human settlements environment. This paper, based on the perspective of landscape architecture, aims to study the characteristics of landscape architecture space in urban fringe area, and summarize related issues on ecological effect weakening and regional culture fuzzy in urban fringe, to support the healthy development of urban fringe.In the purpose of reasonably respond to the landscape ecological problems in urban fringe, the concept of urban fringe and landscape architecture space is defined in Chapter1"Introduction", the breakthrough in this two research area is explored as well, it is considered that urban fringe landscape architecture space is the best carrier of landscape ecological function in urban fringe. In Chapter2"Summary", this paper qualitatively and quantitatively analyses the related research in recent20years on urban fringe from the perspective of landscape architecture, then sums up the shortcomings of current research in this field and points out one possible direction of future development, defines that the current trend of research of urban fringe should focus on research of evolution of space pattern which orients to solve ecological problems, and research of spatial amenity which aims to improve the living quality of human in urban fringe, finally, directs the exploring of urban fringe landscape architecture space characteristics.This paper considers urban fringe landscape architecture space as a complex human-ecosystems. In the light of the natural ecology and cultural property of this space, Chapter3"Basic theory" constructs a suitable concept of system, ecology and culture as a theoretical platform for the research of urban fringe landscape architecture space, and to support the empirical research of this paper.To excavate further the common characteristics of urban fringe landscape architecture space, in Chapter4"The construction of urban fringe landscape architecture space system and the analysis of its framework of characteristics ", this paper analyses the constitution of urban fringe landscape architecture space system in macro, middle and micro levels, discusses special characteristics of space elements in each level, then sums up the general characteristics of urban fringe landscape architecture space of common cities including Wuhan. A typical characteristic of pattern is being observed in macro and middle level, as amenity is appeared in micro level. Also this paper analyses the general characteristics of urban fringe landscape architecture space, finds an adapted analysis method, and finally puts forward a universal analysis framework of characteristics of urban fringe landscape architecture space, provides directions and methods for the researches of concrete characteristics of urban fringe landscape architecture space.In the purpose of validating the feasibility of urban fringe landscape architecture space characteristic framework and exploring the concrete characteristics of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space, Chapter5"Characteristics and regularity of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space ", based on remote sensing image in1989,2000,2005,2010,2013and numerous data from field researches, uses methods such as GIS, remote sensing image interpretation and Fragstats landscape index analysis with data extraction in the macro and middle level to describe and analyse the overall pattern, factor type distribution quantitatively and qualitatively in different periods of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space from the angle of spatial pattern, also to excavate the dynamic evolution characteristics of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space. Meanwhile in micro level, it applies a method with large quantity of questionnaire, interview and fieldwork in representative fringes of Wuhan to analyse the characteristics of landscape architecture space of residential, industrial, university and public space recreational belt from three aspects of natural ecological effect, function requirement, and geographical and cultural characteristics. The concrete characteristic of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space is been obtained.Chapter6"Develop Strategy of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space " analyses the effects from urban fringe landscape architecture space for the development of urban, and refines the concrete characteristic of Wuhan urban fringe landscape architecture space, then summarizes the existing main problems and presents the strategy based on the perspective of landscape architecture, providing solutions for coordinating the relationship between human and nature in urban fringe area.
