The Multiple Launch Rocket System(MLRS),which has the merits of high fire rate,formidable power,good maneuverability,long range and large volumes of firepower delivered in a short time,has been paid great and wide attention by every powerful country in military.However,the large firing dispersion and rockets consumption in test are common problems for the MLRS,These problems have restricted the development of MLRS for a long time and become big difficulties in improving the damage efficiency and saving test cost of the MLRS.As an important part of research results of the national key projects,the launch dynamics of shipborne MLRS in theories,computations and experiments are studied deeply in this paper.These investigations are based on the latest international research results in launch dynamics and the transfer matrix method for multibody systems(MSTMM).The research results have been successfully applied to lots of significant engineering applications,where the firing dispersion and the rocket consumption in test for the shipborne MLRS are reduced.The innovation achievements of this paper are as follows.(1)Using the MSTMM,the launch dynamics model of the shipborne MLRS is established,the automatic deduction method of the overall transfer equation is presented,and the eigenequation is consequently acquired.As a result,the rapid computation of the vibration characteristics and launch dynamics of the shipborne MLRS are realized.(2)The numerical simulation system of the launch dynamics of the shipborne MLRS is established,and the visual simulation software is developed.The natural vibration characteristics and the launch dynamics of the shipborne MLRS are computed and verified by the modal and firing tests,respectively.(3)The non-full loading firing test method that reduces rockets consumption in firing test of the shipborne MLRS is established.The test scheme of firing dispersion is to use 7-tube loading instead of 28-tube loading of the shipborne MRLS.Moreover,the result of live firing test shows that rocket consumption and test cost are reduced by 75%compared with ordinary test method,and the economic benefit is remarkable.(4)Based on the design idea of small initial disturbance,the optimization method and the design scheme of firing orders and firing intervals with high firing precision,as well as the active control approach for the shipborne MLRS are presented.The living firing test shows that the firing dispersion of shipborne MLRS has been greatly reduced by using the proposed scheme.The benefit in military is remarkable.
