A new structural system of steel houses suitable for the structure of length-width ratio?1.5 is proposed based on the steel grid box-like structure — multiplayer large-span orthogonal-diagonal lattice spatial steel grid cassette structure.It conforms to the need of building the ecological civilization and sustainable development.Monolayer large-span steel structure has the disadvantage of mass-occupation of land and multilayer large-span steel structure has the disadvantage of mass-occupation of steel,which the new structure can all overcome.The study on lateral resistance of multiplayer large-span orthogonal-diagonal lattice spatial steel grid cassette structure shows that it has exceptional stiffness?ductility and hysteretic behavior.The results of the study on an engineering example using mode-superposition response spectrum method and the method of elastic time-history analysis show that it has good seismic performance.The mechanical properties of orthogonal-diagonal lattice steel open-web sandwich plate are studied,and the equivalent stiffness is derived.The orthogonal-diagonal lattice steel open-web sandwich plate is designed using FE software and practical design method.Based on the overloading test,the stress and displacement measured are far less than the regulation of code.It showed that steel open-web sandwich plate had three-dimensional force characteristics and the steel material was still in elastic range.In this paper,the plate index of comfortable degree is introduced.And the tests of measuring floor modal and human comfort of the floor vibration were conducted to contrast the results of FE.All these show that the human comfort of the floor vibration can meet standard requirements.The progressive collapse of structures of steel grid cassette and conventional steel framework were analyzed.The results showed that the steel grid cassette structure was better than conventional steel framework to prevent progressive collapse,because of the space compatibility of orthogonal-diagonal lattice steel open-web sandwich plate and the greater flexural rigidity of steel grillage walls.
