Research On The Related Concepts Of Group Theory

Objectives:To organize the theory of making up a formula, and to extract, analyze and interpret its involved concepts, in order to improve the theory of making up a formula, to enrich the content of the theoretical system of prescription, to instruct teaching, clinical and scientific research.Methods:The thesis took the Chinese medicine theory as the instruction, and took the literature research as the main form, drew lessons from Linguistics and Philology and other related knowledge, then collected and sorted out the records of ancient and modern literature about the theory of making up a formula, combined with the calendar version of "Science of Prescription",to give the relevant concepts of textual research, screening, analysis, recruiting, induction and summary, then gave preliminary explanation to the relevant concepts.Results:(1) The historical evolution of the theory of making up a formula has been organized:The theory of making up a formula originated in the book of Huangdi Neijing", it included the content of the theory about "monarch, minister, adjuvant and guide",tonification and purgation based on visceral conditions, and the excess of six climatic evils,etc.The theory of monarch, minister, adjuvant and guide" was the main content of the theory of making up a formula, it originated in the book of Huangdi Neijing" and had been continuously added and improved by the doctors in past dynasties, after Cheng Wuji had used it to explain the prescription in the book of "Shanghan Mingli Lun"in the Song dynasty,then it became the major theoretical basis for guiding the later physicians to make prescriptions with different drugs, since then, the vast majority of physicians adopted this theory, as to the Ming and Qing dynasties, it had been perfected, after entering the modern era, it has been widely used in the field of science of prescription.(2)The research status of the theory of making up a formula has been analyzed: After the composition theory had been explained and discussed by the doctors in the period from Song Ming Qing to modern era, its basic framework has been formed, but some of its basic concepts was still not reached a consensus, for example, the definition of connotations between the principle and structure of making up a formula, and the definition of connotations among the monarch drug, minister drug, adjuvant drug and guiding grug, etc.(3) The reasons for the dispute of monarch drug"have been discussed:After some prescriptions with more disputes about "monarch drug" in the calendar version of "Science of Prescription" had been analyzed as examples, the reasons for the cognitive difference of "monarch drug" were obtained as follows:① Different doctor had different views on the drug’s potency and efficacy, ② different doctor had different views on the main and secondary syndrome of a disease, ③it was dispute whether the dose of a drug in the prescription should be used as the basis for determining of the monarch drug,④ it was dispute whether the name of a prescription should be used as the basis for determining of the monarch drug.(4) The evolution of the concept of "making up a formula" has been researched:The meaning of "Zhifang" and "Lifang" that appeared earlier in the literature of the Song dynasty was similar with it, then these two words were adopted until the early stage of the People’s Republic of China, and then it came to be called "making up a formula" in the book of "Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine" that edited by Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1958, since then, it has been widely used in the field of traditional Chinese medicine as "the form or process of choosing drugs to make up a formula", and its related concepts included the principle of making up a formula and the structure of making up a formula,etc. Conclusion:(1)Making up a formula is a form or process that under the guidance of the theory of Chinese medicine(it mainly refers to the theory of treatment based on syndrome differentiation), in view of the pathogenesis or disease symptoms,according to a certain treatment method,then select adaptive drugs and determine appropriate dosage and usage of them to make up a formula. The extension of its concept is the composition form or process of the specific prescription.(2)The theory of making up a formula is a theory to study how drugs constitute a prescription and define the status of the drugs in a prescription, that is to say, it is the theory of analysis on the compatibility relation among the drugs in a prescription.it is a theoretical system that be made up of the concepts and the relationship among these concepts that be taken as the basis in the process or the form of making up a formula, and it can be divided into two parts:the principle of making up a formula and the structure of making up a formula.(3) The principle of making up a formula refers to taking the treatment method that according to the pathogenesis as the basic principle of making up a formula, That is to say "the treatment according to the pathogenesis, the prescription according to the treatment".Its extension consist of referencing to the characteristics of evil, conforming to the physiological characteristics of the viscera, complying with the seven aspects of compatibility of traditional Chinese medicine, and the prescription (or drugs)is in accordance with the syndromes,etc.(4)The structure of making up a formula is the structure of a prescription, it refers to the organizational form and the relationship among the various drugs in a prescription. The structure of "monarch, minister, adjuvant and guide"is its basic form, and is also the most commonly used form; and the supplementary form of it includes:the form of single application, the form of mutual reinforcement, the main and auxiliary form and the composite form, etc.
