Professor Feng Hardware's Academic Thoughts And Clinical Experience Are Summarized And The Characteristics Of The Treatment Of Ulcerative Colitis Are Studied

1.The origination of Prof.Feng’s academic thought.By interviewing,and following up his treatment,the origination of Prof.Fong’s academic thought was studied systematically.His diagnose and treatment of gastrointestinal disease is characterized and his academic thought is summarized which are:(1)Based on clinical experience,search ancient literatures.He started medical practice when he was 16 years old,kept on learning and practicing together.Whenever he met difficulties,he looked for the famous medical expert and read literature according to the confusion.Both expert’s experience and ancient literature inspired him very much.(2)Learn from experts but not limited from there.When he studied in Xiyang Medical College,Taigu Medical College and Beijing Traditional Chinese Medical University,he studied both traditional and modern medical systematically.His teachers include famous TCM experts such as Liu Duzhou,Ren Yingqiu,Cheng Shide.(3)Combined both traditional and modern medical,brought out the strength and avoid the weakness.He returned to his home town and worked in Shanxi TCM institute after his graduation from Beijing TCM University.In clinical practice,he found that though most time gastrointestinal is chronic disease,it may become acute which resulted in serious symptoms such as:gastric reflux,nausea,vomit,haematemesis,etc.Originated from humanity care spirit,he developed a treatment method which combines traditional and modern medical,releases the acute symptoms first,followed by remove the root cause.(4)Summarized his experience and developed to a systematic theory.By verifying and improving his theory continuously,he raised six principle:coordinate intestines and stomach first,let Qi flow smoothly,harmonize is importance,target balance,mainly prophylaxis,patient oriented.2.Summary of Prof Feng’s experience:Summarize his clinical experience based on therapy of chronic functional constipation,functional abdominal distension,recurrent oral ulceration,gastric reflux and eczema.(1)Chronic functional constipation:Prof Feng indicated that the chronic functional constipation can be attribute to factors such as spleen,liver depression,wet stagnation,blood stasis,which will deteriorate colorectal malfunction.Therefore,he prepared constipation release particles,which lubricate the colorectal and smoothen Qi flow(Black ugly,fire hemp,Yu Li Ren,Trichosanthes,woody,Glauber’s salt).It is fine-tuned based on his experience and the result is very satisfying.(2)Functional abdominal distension:Prof Feng suggested that the therapy principle is to smoothen the:flow of Qi with warm Yang,to adjust the basic function of gastrointestinal.Importance of adjusting Qi and blood,function of gastrointestinal and food and sleep is highhighted.(3)Recurrent oral ulceration.He advised that Ying and Yang are adjusted by strengthening the weakness,improve the immunity ability,combining traditional and modern medical,consider both symptom and root cause.His therapy is outstanding in term of fasten recovery of ulceration,reduce its recurrent and stable long term expectation.(4)Gastric reflux:He advised that when the Qi is cooled down and stagnant,or heated up and flow upward,or stomach is weak and lack of peristalsis or clogged by solid obstacle,the gastric reflux occurred.Therapy should harmonize the stomach and lower down the reflux,assisted by release the symptom.The bamboo-gypsum soup is often used(Bamboo leaves,gypsum,Ophiopogon japonicus,Pinellia,Codonopsis,dried tangerine peel,woody,berberine,calcined corrugated)with some fine tune and good results is achieved.(5)Eczema:It is a pleomorphic damage and inflammatory reaction of the skin which has a tendency to seep.It is caused by different complicated factors which are difficult to vindicate.The patient suffer from serious itchy that may deteriorate quality of life,work and study.In modern medical,it is often treated by hormone,which may introduce some side effect after long term usage.The effect is not stable and prone to relapse.There is some progress in TCM treatment.However,the patients may feel it effect slowly and reluctant to continue.Prof.Feng suggests that the root cause is moisture and heat inside muscle,as well as weak in blood and wind flow.Its therapy should be focused in clearing the heat and moisture,nourishing the blood and stopping the wind.3.Progress of ulcerative colitis:Based on Prof.Feng’s academic thought,clinical experience,literature survey was conducted to ulcerative colitis.The pros and cons of modern and traditional medical were compared analytically.The hot topics for deep theoretical and clinical study were discussed.4.Characteristic and clinical study of Prof Feng’s therapy of ulcerative colitis:Objectives:By analyzing the outpatient case of ulcerative colitis statistically,explore the theory of syndrome differentiation and the theory of drug compatibility to guide clinical practice.Methods:A total of 121 cases of ulcerative colitis were collected from Professor Feng Wujin in Shanxi Province.Based on the particular(sex,age,onset season,course of disease),symptom duration,drug analysis,compared the overall and the two groups in term of drug taste&category,and effectiveness,summed up the rules of the prescription and the characteristics of the drugs.Results:Demographic data show that in the study of the case data,the age distribute between 30-50 years old at average of 42.42 ± 12.50.Among them,the average age of Yiqi Qingchang Decoction group was 44.10 ± 11.87,the average age of Wenyang Zhixie Tang group was 39.10±13.19.62 males and 59 females,male to female ratio of 1:1.Among them,38 cases of male Qingqi Tang group,42 cases of women;Wenyang Zhixie Tang group of 24 males and 17 females.Disease data study results show that the overall incidence of ulcerative colitis in the autumn and winter season.Among them,Yiqi Qingchang Tang group in the summer and autumn;Wenyang Zhixie Tang group to spring,autumn and winter as much.The overall duration of disease(year)was 2.50 ± 4.59.Among them,Yiqi Qingchang Tang group was 2.11±3.99,Wenyang Zhixie Tang group was 2.62 ± 3.19.In terms of symptoms,pus and blood,red tongue,stool mucus,diarrhea,stool frequency,abdominal pain,pulse string,poor sleep,blood in the stool,thin coating,anorexia,bloating,dry mouth are common symptoms.In clustering analysis,all the symptoms are divided into four categories:purulent bloody stool,blood in the stool,pus,pulse string,thin fur,white,urine frequency are classified as on group and it is common symptoms;irritability,tenesmus,Shenpi,upset,Sleepiness,bad breath,moss yellow,pantothenic acid,sore throat are classified as another class which is linked with psychomotor according to professional knowledge;stool frequency,diarrhea,diarrhea,and so on,according to professional knowledge,Fatigue,backache,chills,constipation,bowel,bloating,stomach pain are classified as a class and is cold syndrome according to professional knowledge;Constipation and diarrhea-related,from some cases there have been loose pods,while the constipation and bowel,bloating,stomach pain is related;all of these indicate that the disease is physical and mental disease with apparent symptoms of cold and heat which coincide with Professor’s thought.The typical medicine that professor gave(Codonopsis pilosula,Astragalus membranaceus,Dictyophora,Dipotrophy,Parasitism,Liaoxian,Pine,Sophora)are analyzed by Bays Contingent probability.The results showed that the frequency of Codonopsis,Radix Aconitum and Radix Astragali was the highest.The proportion of warm and hot drugs reached 61%.The proportion of cold and cold drugs was only 28%,and the proportion of sweet and sour taste was 78%which flow to the liver and spleen and kidney,especially more to the kidney.Among them,Qiqi Qingchang Tang group of hot drugs accounted for 46%,cold drugs accounted for only 31%;Wenyang Zhixie Tang group temperature yang medicine accounted for 33.94%.Two groups of cases of yang medicine,astringent medicine,qi medicine,blood resuscitation drugs are basically the same.Conclusions:ulcerative colitis is a physical&motional disease that originate from weak kidney Yang,and shows symptoms of stuck heat.From comprehensive treatment thought,therapy based on differentiation of cold and hot are more rational and scientific,and practical.
