[Objective]Being as the fourth and the fifth batch of inheritance of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Professor Niu XingDong is an expert of construction projects of TCM inheritance studio. With his rich clinical experience, Professor Niu XingDong has been devoting to Chinese medicine clinical, scientific research and management for more than 40 years. As a famous TCM in Inner Mongolia, he also specializes in treating spleen and stomach disease. Professor Niu XingDong’s clinical experience is extremely valuable. This dissertation aims to analyze, summarize and inherit academic theory as well as clinical experience through scientific, comprehensive and systematic methods. Via learning the experience of Professor’s Niu XingDong with regard to the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis (UC), the thesis conducts clinical research and observes the therapeutic effect.[Method and Content]Through the outpatient service followed by Professor Niu XingDong, plus, collating clinical files as well as establishing database, the thesis first uses AlphaMiner1.0 and Mirosoftexcel 2003 open data platform by means of association rules analysis and frequency analysis for professor Niu XingDong’s medical record, which also combines with his individual notes, lectures, personal interviews, papers and books. By ways of retrieving both ancient and modern TCM academic theory,this paper makes a systematic review over Professor Niu Xingdong’s academic inheritance from historical perspective and its theoretical sources,including the master-apprentice process, in-depth study of the TCM classics, and learning from other Chinese medicine masters with an open mind during the formation of his academic thoughts, and establishing his own unique academic thoughts and clinical experiences in treating Ulcerative Colitis (UC) diseases. By way of collecting and sorting out the complete prescriptions for 80 patients with ulcerative colitis,there are two groups named "Totifying Spleen and Cleaning Intestines Decoction Plus Chinese Medicine Enema" (treatment group) and" Mesalazine Enteric Coated Tablet " (control group). Under the guidance of my tutor, this paper will make summary on his thought patterns, prescription regularity and experiences in treating Ulcerative Colitis (UC) based on frequency analysis and association rules analysis. Both groups were observed of two period of treatment, and each period of treatment lasts for 4 weeks. Meanwhile, analyzing and evaluating the collective data.Results:There exists a significant difference between two groups. Treatment group is much superior to the control group in terms of effective rate, improvement of general symptoms, diarrhea frequency, bloody purulent stool, colonoscopy change as well as the recurrence rate. P< 0.05, with statistical significance. The whole symptoms integral values of the treatment group are all lower before and after treatment, P< 0.05, with statistical significance; the integral value of the control group decreased in terms of diarrhea, pain, bloody purulent stool, lassitude before and after the treatment, P< 0.05, with statistical significance; erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein values of both groups are lower after treatment, P < 0.05, with statistical significance; the parameters such as IgG, IgA, C3 of treatment group has improved prominently after treatment, whereas the factors included IgG and C3 of control group has improved remarkably, P< 0.05, with statistical significance.Conclusion:It is apparent that Totifying Spleen and Cleaning Intestines Decoction Plus Chinese Medicine Enema plays an important role in relieving clinical symptoms, reducing inflammatory reaction, adjusting immunological mechanism, enhancing the quality of ulcer healing, decreasing the recurrence rate, which demonstrates worthy of clinical popularization and application.
