The Research On The Characteristics Of Left Out Formulae Created By Liu Wansu For The Treatment Gynecological Diseases

Liu Wansu is one of the four schools of the Jin-Yuan Dynasty.He delved into "NeiJing" for several decades and amply researched the natural law of"five circuits and six qi" and "creation and transformation".He respected the theories created by Zhang Zhongjing and widely collected formulae and theories from the pulse and patterns of Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous,valued but did not rigidly adhere to the ancient,and corrected many errors.He created formulae according to syndrome dirrerentiation,wrote many books,and created a school through.My research subjects mainly are Prescriptions and Expositions of Huangdi's Plain Questions,Exploration to Mysterious Pathogenesis and Etiology Based on the Plain Questions,and Collections for Life-Saving from Plain Questions through its Pathomechanism and Qi-Tonifying.All of the three books are writen by Liu Wansu.Through collecting and consulting a great deal of relevant literature,based on the studies by previous scholars,I conducted in-depth study and analyzed the treatment of women disease in the book.This article used "the five circuits and six qi" as a thought and theory basis which came from "nineteen pathomechanisms" of(Huangdi's)Internal Classic.Mr.Liu's "pattern identification as the basis for determining treatment" is based on "five circuits" to locate the disease,and based on "six qi" to find disease nature.He selected 71 formulae for the treatment of women's disease,verified the dosage and the disease that a formula can be treated,and explored the pathogenesis and the caracteristics of medicinal combinations.This article summarized how "Four Agents Decoction" like prescriptions and "Minor Bupleurum Decoction" like prescriptions were used by Liu Hejian,and explained why Minor Bupleurum Decoction could be applied to resolve the exterior.Mr.Liu has his feature for determining the treatment of wilting disease,flooding and spotting,aggregation-accumulation,retention of the lochia,and the disease leads vaginal effluent change.When treating wilting disease,he equally tonified the deficiency and eliminated the pathogen,instead of mainly tonified Qi and blood,though,following the principle of attaching importance to tonification for the treatment of this disease.He did not use great many astringing and bleeding stanching medicinals as main ingredients when treating flooding and spotting,in stead,he took heat-clearing method as treatment root.He attached importance to the pathomechanism of fireheat pathogen,and made good use of bitter and cold medicinals,frequently used rhubarb to remove excess pathogen.He used qi-activating medicinals more to resolve stagnated yang qi,assisting the elimination of excess pathogen and preventing the production of stagnation and heat transformation.Mr.Liu paid great attention to the toxicity of drugs,therefore,he made pills and powders in order to achieve rapid treatment effect and avoid the toxicities.Through above research,I explored the characteristic of academic thought in fire-focused and cold-cool school treatment as well as its application in the treatment of women's disease.
