Research On Decorative Art Glass Design Of Contemporary China

In the history of Chinese glass development, decorative art glass products became a bright pearl in the development of world glass history with its unique national characteristics of the shape, decoration and craft. After the mid-20 th century, the economy and technology development has made the glass that highly malleable decorative arts materials coruscated into new vitality. Although, the glass art of China origin earlier, the contemporary decorative glass art and industry based on modern science and technology that's meet the functional and aesthetic needs started late. The management concept, the design level, manufacturing quality and process technology are far more behind the Western powers. So far, Chinese decorative art glass production in terms of numbers have been among the highest in the world. While in the design innovation level is far from being a world power of decorative art glass industry. Based on the reflections on the current situation that long history and developmen lags behind, and huge number of low quality. This paper is based on design subject, and tries to explore an effective way to enhance the innovation ability of Chinese decorative art glass design. Also it hopes to make a contribution to the current situation of the development of Chinese decoration art glass industry.The current domestic and foreign theoretical researches on decorative art glass mainly focus on the archaeology, history, architecture, and related materials, process, technical analysis and literature data, and photo finishing. Compared with the foreign research literature, there are only few domestic researches of glass art, which mainly focused on the history of the decorative art glass' s test and review, research and interpretation of traditional decoration art glass' s form and process. Although there are some researchers have made some analysis for the current development status of Chinese decorative art glass industry such as management concept, management mode, technology development, marketing tactics, we still not have an actual and comprehensive solution to achieve a new breakthrough in the design. It can be said that, the domestic research for decorative art glass is still in the initial stage, the research perspective, method and topic remains to be further developed.Based on the previous research through comparative studies, historical research, systematic data collection and investigation in Shanghai Glass Museum, Qinhuangdao Glass Museum, Desheng Glass Deep Processing Industrial Park, etc. This paper analyzes the contemporary Chinese decorative art glass design and production development situation; and also studied contemporary Chinese decorative art glass from multi-angle views on the basis of finding problems, analyzing problems and solving problems. Specifically, the research is based on the analysis of the historical background and current situation of contemporary Chinese decorative art glass development, discusses the problems of decorative art glass industry design and development at the present stage; points out that with indispensable value and great significance of design innovation development to Chinese decorative art glass industry, then from material utilization, forming process, form design, and design concept of the four main aspects discussed the innovation method of decorative art glass design. Among them, in the aspect of research on material utilization, forming process, and form design innovation, this paper analyses the design defects of Chinese decorative art glass material, process and form, and puts forward innovative methods and approaches of various possible. Particularly, we should discover this great historic treasure from Chinese traditional glass arts and crafts, and extract the valuable components, for this view of "identity" of the symbol for the contemporary Chinese decorative art glass. To learn diverse decorative art glass design methods from Western decoration art glass design. In this way, Chinese contemporary glass art innovation "door" would be opened while the traditional Chinese glass art "root" could be excavated at the same time. At the end, based on the research on the materials, process and form of design innovation, this paper analyzes the foundation and the way to design innovation of concept, and to point out Chinese decorative art glass design concept that we have to inherit the traditional creations thoughts, on the other hand, we need to learn from systematize design concept, to guideline for future Chinese decorative art glass development. Through these studies, this paper discusses the relationship of material utilization, forming process, form design and design concept. It is a theoretical exploration for the study of contemporary Chinese decorative art glass design.
