In our modern society, language service has important economic value. However, at present the economic value of language services has not yet received a clear understanding. The survey revealed, during the specific service consumption process, service recipients are willing to choose those consumer places which can provide better language service project though with comparatively higher prices. Thus language service has certain market demand. The survey also revealed the service units and service personnel concern only with traditional general sense of language service. But for more widespread sense, there is lack of clear understanding for non-traditional morphological language service. Neither service unit nor service personnel attach enough importance to the investment on language service. This study probes into the research of language service under the principle of the economics of language and language resources exploration.Language service has a dual meaning at the macro and micro levels. Two levels of language service can be divided into instrumental language services and industrial type language services. Instrumental microscopic language services carry out survey mainly from language service providers and recipients. Among them, the language service provider investigation mainly includes language service consciousness, language service behavior and language service benefit; Language service recipients investigation mainly involves consumption consciousness and consumption willingness concerning with language service.Language service consciousness survey indicates that there is no unevenly-distributed choice of mandarin resources in different industries and different grade units in the language service process; with higher grade and larger scale, language service units tend to laid more emphasis on foreign language resources. As for the recognition of the importance of service language standard, language service providers tend to value the oral language standard.Service personnel are short of comprehensive knowledge of language service scope and field. Moreover, the language service consciousness of related service personnel and service unit is not clear, and language service concept in service industry hasn't been widely spread.Language service behavior survey shows that the service language (mandarin) standard levels of service personnel are closely related to such factors as:service unit size, service personnel education degree, source region and service unit types. When mandarin becomes the main service language, service personnel has good basic language service ability accordingly. The survey also shows that, despite the individual service unit has its own language service ability test methods and content, but overall, the standards and specifications of language service ability in service industry are pending consummates. The proportion of service personnel for the mandarin testing is rather low. As the most basic and feasible language service capacity evaluation mode, mandarin testing can gradually cause to develop among service industry professionals. And in higher levels, language service skills and strategies need linguistics as guidance.Language service benefit survey indicates that the economic investment of the language service is bound together with language service unit scale and industry field. Neither service unit nor service personnel give priority to the investment. As for job interview and assessment, service personnel language service ability isn't reflected efficiently in evaluation. Service unit often neglect service personnel language service capability, so the economic value of language services does not receive the attention it deserves. As for language training, language training investment in large and medium-sized service unit is significantly better than that in small service unit. The proportion of service personnel individual who has language training plan is significantly higher than the proportion of language training program held in service industry. So undoubtedly the language training market has a promising future.Language service recipient survey shows, the requirement from recipient to provider is higher than provider's self-demand and self-evaluation. As to consumer consciousness, although there are certain tolerance and understanding for language service providers, but subconsciously, consumers expect more respect embodied by service language. The requirements for service language are related to consumer's age, education background and economic conditions. The evaluation of consumer for language services mainly concentrated on the basic role----"providing information", followed by delivering consumption idea, then by pleasing customers'psychology. In the willingness to consume language service, consumers are willing to choose those consumer places which can provide better language service project though with comparatively higher prices. Consumers'consumption willingness is associated with their own concern about the language service, consumers'ages and economic conditions. The more attention, the more highly consumers are willing to pay for language services. Low-income consumers tend to choose the language services with low price (lower willingness to pay); medium-income consumers tend to accept higher language service price (higher willingness to pay); the more young consumers, the higher willingness to pay for language consumption.Mining the economic value of microscopic language service is to develop language resources and language economy. Therefore, we need to implement macro language service and language economic planning. Macro language service exerts language planning behavior by national relevant departments or authorized agencies from language economic point of view. Language economic planning is the implementation of language planning behavior by multi-layered language planning parts, namely from the state, the economic groups and individuals.
