The thesis which is based on the basic concepts of Marxist Philosophy focuses on the study of the thought of cultural practices of Richard Hoggart who is the classic representative personage of the British New Marxism, the founder of cultural materialism, and the presenter of the thought of cultural practices. The core content of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices is that cultural generation cannot be divorced from the reality of human activities, it should be understand the real connotation and the value purpose of cultural generation and revolution from everyday human behavior, the nature of the practice of human and lifestyle of human, in order to promote the fundamental change of the way of understanding and expressing culture, to unify the logic of culture and the logic of life, to form the cultural generative mechanism of self-creation and self-development of common cultural practitioners. The aims of thought is to ultimately achieve cultural life and life culture, to improve the inner unity of culture and life, to foster cultural consciousness of the working class, to strengthen the position of the proletariat, and to achieve practical ability of socialism.Hoggart adheres to the basic point of view of cultural materialism, emphasizes the culture with practices, and is based on the real social problems to change the inequality social order, and to seek the power source of constructing the ideal society, which means to construct the future of good society through microscopic cultural practices. Therefore, the inner structure and theoretical basis points of Hoggart's cultural practice philosophy are the criticism of real society and the construction of ideal socialist society. Based on the Marxist position, the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices concerns cultural practices of the overwhelming majority of the people, and embodies in the social and political function of culture to emphasize the cultural change caused by social change which is based on multiply thinking of cultural life of the common people, and thus to achieve comprehensive management of the whole society. The thought of Hoggart's cultural practices provides the general cultural practitioners with powers and embodies powers of common progress of micro cultural practitioners. Thus it reveals the realistic foundation of the social changes which are triggered by cultural changes is the reform of starting at cultural practices of micro cultural subjects rather than the simply institutional reform or structural reform.The importance of meaning and value of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices is that on the one hand, cultural practices are based on everyday life and cultural practices of ordinary people, and give play to the power and the role of micro cultural practices subject according to human existence understanding culture, human practices creating culture and human liberation guiding culture; on the other hand, the cultural practices reflect people's life at reasonable cultural routes as paths of development of human society and indications of cultural values as norms of human behavior to achieve the intrinsic unity of cultural practices and the changes of lives and societies through this two-way force thereby achieving changing social system, and changing human practices.The thesis studies on the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices from the ideological origin, the theoretical perspective, the path and the core, from this to deeply explore the concrete content of cultural practices, that is the dimension of subject, the dimension of object, and social relevance. Meanwhile, the thesis discusses the features of discourse to show the unique and the value of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices. Therefore, the logical structure of the thesis has several aspects.The introduction generally introduces Hoggart's academic experience, analyzes the domestic and international research status of Hoggart's thoughts, and indicates further research of the current fields to put forward the content, significance and path of the thesis.The first chapter analyzes theoretical origins, ideological foundation, and cultural context of the thought of Hoggart from the perspective of the occurrence of individual thinking. Hoggart pays more attention to the new changes in the post-war Britain, and focuses on the culture as the breakthrough of changing real society, and stimulates the new British Marxism advocates constantly try to find the true sense of the culture in adhering to the tradition of British empiricism and learning from thought of practical philosophy and cultural theory of Marx.The second chapter presents the general idea of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practice, focuses to interpret the theoretical perspective, the path and the core of the thought of cultural practices as well as an overview of the reason of setting later chapters. Hoggart analyzed the huge social crisis and the inherent paradox in modern society, and deeply criticizes the elitism cultural order and the relativism cultural order, and forms the theoretical core of his thought on the basis of exploring the dual views of the cultural connotation, that is the endless cultural practices of people as the core idea; the holistic cultural generating which contains the closed relationship among the cultural subject, cultural object and cultural practices as the internal mechanism; the materialist dialectics as the basic characteristics; to eliminating alienation and changing society as theoretical purpose.The third chapter is one of the most important perspectives of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices, and reflects the key point of his thought that to change the referents of cultural subject, release exclusive cultural status of the cultural elite, make cultural groups turn to the subjects of cultural practices, set up the thought of common people as creative subjects of cultural generating. In the sense of changing subjects of cultural practices explain the role of changing the referents of cultural subject and enhancing self-awareness and practical abilities of micro cultural subjects.The fourth chapter is another important dimension, and is a Hoggart's thought from changing objects of the world in order to make the cultures of ordinary people in everyday life to include in the scope of cultural studies, and make the referents of Cultural Studies to happen the fundamental significance of the change, that is from the literary analysis of the metaphysical and abstract aesthetic significance into micro, diversity and full of tension structures of Cultural Studies which reflect human life. From beyond the research object of traditional culture, forms of objects of cultural practices, and everyday cultural representations of cultural generating, three aspects clarify the specific referents of cultural practices, and analyze of original objects of Hoggart's cultural practices, illustrate the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices has the function of changing the cultural referents and the meaning of creating the new scene of cultural studies.The fifth chapter is the extension study of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices. From the study of relations between cultural practices and everyday life, cultural practices and power relation, cultural practices and social changes, the thesis reveals the social meaning of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices that to advocate the cultural practices which are root in everyday life, and achieves the inherent unification of culture and life, and change the social meaning of mass media, and change cultural subjectivity, and ultimately change social change from the inside.The sixth chapter is the micro epitome and the specific reappearing of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices, and is the connotative study of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices. From examining cultural characterization system, building the patterns of discourse practices, promoting the capacities of discourse practitioners, realizing the unification of cultural representations and cultural practices, the thesis explores the inner structure of holistic Hoggart's discourse pattern and the function of discourse practices to cultural generating in order to deeply explain to the specific and important practice approaches of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices, that is it improves the double changes and the matching reforms of subjects and objects of cultural practices, and deeply integrate and mutually unify both of them by building the whole discourse pattern.Conclusion analyzes and sums up the significance and value of the thought of Hoggart's cultural practices from spreading the inner spirit of practice philosophy of Marxism, sublimating the value connotation of Humanism, leading practice orientation of cultural innovation to the people, and constructing the new subjects of ideal socialism, and discusses the reference value to cultural construction in China.In summary, the main novelty of this thesis is that to make cultural practices as the main point of Hoggart's thoughts and deeply study the real cultural connotation, which Hoggart seeks around the dual perspectives of cultural connotation, and explore the core ideas, internal mechanisms, basic features and theoretical purposes of his thoughts. It clearly puts forward the theoretical value, the significant and the roles of cultural practices in social practices and social changing.
