The tight bound between Chinese literature and the geographical space can be traced back to The Book of Songs and The Songs of Chu in per-Qin period.Up to the two Sony dynasties, the relationship had been more closed.Ci-styles are mainly graceful and gentle, most Ci-subjects are involving the southern areas, and major Ci-writers were settling in the south. All these phenomenons provides solid evidences to the basis of the point. The massive change of southward moving in Song Dynasty led to switching of the centers in politics, economy and culture.Meanwhile, the transformation of Ci-creation in geographical space is also a necessary result.Although the geographical space plays an important part in the the creation and development in Ci-styles,the studies of Song Ci still lay particular emphasis on the vertical analysis of time. For that reason, this thesis takes "The Study in the Geospatial Influences on Song Ci" as the title,to explore the relationship between the environment and Ci-writers.So that the spatial study is enhanced and Song Ci can be researched more scientifically in two ways, both spatially and temporally. This thesis analyzes and proves the geospatial influences on Song Ci from macro and micro aspects.Based on the unit of Ci,data statistics and historical documents are applied in this paper. From case studies as the penetration points, instead of static and partial biases, this study is to dynamically and comprehensively analyze the complex relationship between Song Ci-writers and the geographical space. In the end,the disciplinary characteristics are summarized by analyzing the geospatial influences on Ci-contents,Ci-styles,Ci-thoughts and psychologies of Ci-writers.This thesis is divided into three parts:Introduction,Main body and Conclusion. The first part is an introduction. On the basis of defining this nuclear concept of the "geographical space",the reasons of this study are given. The current situations are given on the studies of the relationship between the geographical space and Song Ci,to discover the research value of this title. Then thoughts and methods of this study are elaborated. The second part is the main body which includes two volumes, studying the case in macro and micro ways. The ideas and conclusions of the macro study are on the solid basis of case studies.Volume ?,the macro study, can be divided into five chapters as following:Chapter ? studies the geospatial influences on the subjects of Song Ci.There is an obvious difference in strong or weak in these influences, and the major influences are the subjects involving history, customs, landscapes, travels and official careers. The geospatial influences on historical Ci mainly shows as the selected visiting place;endemic Ci reveals a series of local customs;Ci of describing landscapes and substances strongly shows the literature differences in areas;and those describing travels and official careers manifest themselves incredibly mobility in geographical spaces, thus cultural communications are brought from different regions.Chapter ? is to study the geospatial influences on the styles of Song Ci.The regional difference are influenced by several factors such as landscapes, hydrology, biology, and primarily, climates. This article takes climates as its references. In Song Dynasty,Ci-writers were mainly assembled in the warm zone and the subtropical zone among the six climate zones from north to south, thus the study of the two climates zones evidently helps to explore the overall style of Song Ci.The personal styles, native or guest, can also be influenced by the geographical space:the former is ingrained, and the latter is strained by time, mood and so on.The two factors collide to create a new style of Ci.Jin Yuan Ci and Southern Song Ci are both originated from Northern Song Ci,but they select to develop in different ways under the influences of different geographical environments.Jin Yuan Ci is powerful and clean, and the style of South Song poetry is rather gracious and implicit.Chapter ? studies the geospatial influences on the ideas of Song Ci.On the whole, the geospatial influences on the ideas are less direct and powerful, compered with those on the subjects and the styles of Song poetry. In this chapter, only two ideas are discussed, namely,"Ci as an amorous discipline" and "styling oneself".The idea "Ci as an amorous discipline" is originated from Hua Hua Jian Ji.The Ci-writers of Hua Jian Ji were primarily settlers of Shu.The advanced economy and the prevailing hedonism of the basin of Sichuan form the idea of "Ci as an amorous discipline".The idea of "styling oneself ' can be interpreted from the aspects of the developing pattern of Ci-style,the social environment of Ci-writers and the temperament of Ci-writers.Nevertheless,without the research on the geographical space of Mizhou, the interpretations are a bit too shallow.Chapter ? and Chapter V respectively analyze the native complex and the affection for imperial palaces, two special psychologies in man-land relationship. The hometown has double meanings of the source and the end-result of one's life. Most Ci-writers in Song Dynasty chose to end their lives on other lands, although it is not consistent with the most educated and proper image of scholar-officials in Song Dynasty. This phenomenon is common but difficult to understand.Song poems involving the capital account for one fifth of all poetry, and the affection for imperial palaces is a common and typical mood in Song Ci.This article organizes and studies the two psychologies of Ci-writers,further analyzes the strange and complex relationship between the hometown and the capital, and explores the complicated inner hearts of Song Ci-writers.Volume ? is case studies, involving six chapters. In this volume, seven typical Ci-writers are selected to study intensively at seven different stages during Two Song Dynasty, according to the importance of contributions. The performance and characteristics of the geospatial influences on Song Ci are also analyzed and concluded from point to area.In the early Northern Song Dynasty,Liu Yong's life map was from Wuyi in the south to Huayin in the north, from Dinghai in the east to Chengdu in the west.Yet his ideological system cannot be fused with Confucianism. His anxiety during his official drifting shows this immaturity and his "Bianjing complex" should not be ignored. In the middle of Northern Song Dynasty,Su Shi's traveled throughout most parts of China. His concept of natives is increasingly replaced by the spiritual home.In the meantime, his ideas of Ci also transform from the traditional "Ci as an amorous discipline" to the "poem's offspring" thoughts of Ci,and his creative subjects show an unprecedented profound degree.Referring to Tao Yuanming, the particularity and humanistic value of Su Shi's indigenous feelings will be found from the aspects of the era environment, temperament and other factors. In the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty, the Ci-style of Zhou Bangyan changed from gentleness and elegance into introvert and profoundness. It is related not only to the age and experience, but also to the broadness and richness of the geographical space.During the Southward Movement,Zhu Dunru were far from his hometown Luoyang, the desolation showed in his Ci is increasingly strong and the sense of alienation to his southern refugees could also be felt. This sentiment can be especially found in his Lingnan Ci.The collision between the north and the south is essentially a manifestation of the affection for the mainstream politics. In the middle of Southern Song Dynasty,Qilu regional flavor and Xinzhou landscapes were both existing in Xin Qiji's poetry, showing a trend of cultural fusion between North and South. It is finally formed the diversification of "Jiaxuan style",conveying increasingly diversity of Ci in the Southern Song Dynasty. And in the late Southern Song Dynasty, the broadness of Liu Kezhuang's life and the limited life of Wu Wenying respectively affected their creations in the field of vision, the contents of Ci and the ideas of Ci.Their writings present two modes of Song-Ci writing, open and restrained, and show the distributary tendency of Ci.The third part is a conclusion. This part summarizes the emphasis on the geospatial influences on Song Ci at two important research dimensions, namely the breadth and depth. From the perspective of breadth to examine the influences,Ci-writers' geographical expansion should be attached greater attention. This gives a clear demonstration of the development of Ci-styles.It is a positive correlation between the Ci-writers' lives and the change of their themes and styles. From the perspective of depth to examine the influences, the distinction should be realized of depth of the geospatial influences on Ci-writers,and the standard measure is the inner world of the poets. With the increasing fierce collision happening between the external geographical space and the inner world of Ci-writers,the initiative of the literary geographical space converted by this collusion is more powerful, and literary works of art appeal more strongly.Pay attention to the two dimensions of breadth and depth, the vivid scroll of the wonderful relationship between the geographical space and Song Ci could be depicted.
