This paper takes seven constructions of high degree in the modern Chinese as the research objects, under the prominence view, tries to explore a variety of possible mechanisms and approaches to the realization of Chinese semantics of high degree from some different perspectives. From the analysis and emergence of construction, component of fixed part of construction, features and access restrictions of variable w, limitations, characteristics and discourse function of w co-occurrence components and other perspectives, the paper makes a more in-depth study of these constructions and considers the syntactic realization problem of Chinese semantics of high degree from the perspective of the relationship between other semantic category and degree category, in order to advance a small step in the research of Chinese semantic category of high degree.This paper is divided into 8 chapters.The first chapter is the introduction. We start from the specific issues, traditional semantics of high degree are mostly realized through the form of degree adverb and degree complement, but the research on the realization of Chinese semantics of high degree has yet to be further promoted. This paper mainly introduces the research objects, the significance of the selected topic, the theoretical basis and research methods, symbolic description, corpus sources and so on.The second chapter focuses on the theoretical research. We have firstly made a brief review of the previous studies on the degree category and a summary of the previous researches on the realization of semantics of high degree. Then, we have made a detailed description of the cognitive prominence theory to explore the role of cognitive prominence in metaphor and metonymy.These contents become the basis of theoretical construction in this paper. We mainly want to construct a system that is achieved from different semantic categories to degree category, explores the way of projecting to degree category from different semantic categories(non-degree category), that is mechanism and approach of realization of degree semantics from different semantic categories.The third chapter to the seventh chapter take each concrete construction as the research objects, are the concrete explanation and application of our theory construction. We think that we should not only study "internal construction", but also explore "external construction", and think about how to achieve semantics of high degree from the view of system. We take "projection of different semantic categories to degree category " as a catch point, try to set up a "small" system, put these "independent" constructions that represent each semantic category into the semantic system of high degree, explore the relationship between the semantic category and the degree category which seem to have no relation and attempt to explain a variety of ways and mechanisms that may exist when achieving Chinese semantics of high degree.The third chapter takes "don't know how w" and "w, don't mention it" as examples to show and illustrate means and methods may be used when Chinese achieves the degree category from the negative category. The common features of these two constructions lie in the form of "negation" in the form of language, but the meaning of expression is affirmative. In addition, because of the different concrete components, the mechanism of realizing the degree of semantic is different, the most notable thing is the access restrictions of variable w and the limitations of the existing components, In other words, the way of prominence has many differences.The fourth chapter takes "why is it so w" and "how w" as examples to show and explain the approaches and methods may be used when Chinese achieves the degree category from the question category. From the big side, the common features of these two constructions are to use the non-interrogative usage of interrogative words to achieve semantic of high degree, but the prominence ways of the degree semantic are different. We want to further consider these two concrete constructions: the members of the same semantic category have some notable features in the realization of semantic of high degree.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes and researches the construction of "it's going to be w's rhythm", through the analysis of w which seems to be related to the features of degree semantic to show how to produce a close relationship between the construction with the feature of dynamic trend(what category does it mean?) and semantic feature of high degree.The sixth chapter is the study on the construction of "w just kill me dead." Different from the previous "dead" as a degree complement to achieve semantic of high degree, in "w just kill me", and "just" has great significance on the generation and expression of semantic of high degree.The seventh chapter is the study of "a+w". "a" gradually showed the syntactic functions and the semantic features of adverb components depicting the situation in the process of gramaticalization. We tried to explore the possible mechanism of the transformation from the quantity category to the degree category through the research on the construction of "a+w".The eighth chapter is the conclusion. Main points of the paper are summarized, in the framework, and we try to systematically observe the relationship between the various concrete constructions in order to have some new findings. In addition, it also summarized some deficiencies of this paper, which is the direction that we will continue to work hard in the future.
