As a famous sociologist in China,Fei Xiaotong not only puts forward the concept of"cultural self-consciousness",but also sums up its development process as "Understanding and discovering yourself form of beauty,Appreciating and understanding other form of beauty,Improving and booming all forms of beauty,Supreme harmony all over the world".This lays a foundation for us to study the thought of "cultural self-consciousness".In the tension relationship of world economic integration and cultural pluralism,the theory of self-consciousness shows a new realm of theoretical research.It breaks the narrow pattern of"clash of civilizations" and advocates "mutual learning" and "harmonious coexistence"between different cultures in a broader vision.However,there is some romanticism in Fei Xiaotong's expression of "cultural self-consciousness".And the inherent logic of "cultural self-consciousness" has not been clarified.We especially need to explore its new theoretical content in the context of constructing a socialist country with powerful culture.Based on Fei Xiaotong's thought of "cultural self-consciousness",we analyze the theory of "cultural self-consciousness" from the perspective of philosophy,and ask what it is,how it is possible,how it originates and how it comes true.We redefine "cultural self-consciousness" from the perspective of ontology,methodology epistemology and axiology,and then realize the scientific,theoretical and systematic construction of "cultural self-consciousness" theory.With the purpose of asking what is "cultural self-consciousness" in current China,we analyze the inherent logic of "cultural self-consciousness" from the perspective of Marxist historical materialism.The nature of "cultural self-consciousness" is a kind of practical self-consciousness."Cultural self-consciousness" is the concept of cultural practice which advancing with the times,being all-inclusive and comprehensive innovation.It is formed in cultural inheritance and intercultural dialogue,which is based on the "self-knowledge" of"cultural life" and "practical rationality" Different ways of practice in different social forms determine different forms of "cultural self-consciousness".Different from the "cultural self-consciousness" of cultural elite in former social forms,"cultural self-consciousness" in contemporary China is people's "cultural self-consciousness" with "comprehensive innovation".And the main form of it is "Marxism as the spirit,Chinese learning as the substance,Western learning as the fuction".In order to examine the possibility of "cultural self-consciousness" minutely,we reflect it from the perspective of hermeneutics.First of all,"understanding and discovering yourself form of beauty" advocates the combination of contemporary culture and traditional culture.However,"time distance" lies between the contemporary and traditional.Schleiermacher's "time distance" concept is a disguised "cultural return",not "understanding and discovering yourself form of beauty".Gadamer argues that "time distance" is the "filter"of cultural dross and the "growth domain" of traditional cultural essence,which makes"understanding and discovering yourself form of beauty" possible.In Marx's view of time,time is the life scale and development space of human.In this way,"understanding and discovering yourself form of beauty" clarifies the practical path of reality.Secondly,"appreciating and understanding other form of beauty" advocates the learning and reference of multiculturalism.But "cultural distance" lies among different cultures.In the horizon of intercultural hermeneutics,"cultural distance" is the "growth domain" of cultural essence and the "filter" of cultural dregs.And this makes "appreciating and understanding other form of beauty" possible.In the view of Marxist,"transformation from history to world history"highlights the power of human essence,which makes "appreciating and understanding other form of beauty" possible.Finally,the expression of "improving and booming all forms of beauty,world harmony" is the vision of cultural harmony."Marxism as the spirit,Chinese learning as the substance,Western learning as the fuction" is the Chinese culture expression of "improving and booming all forms of beauty".Under the integration of "seeing,listening and speaking",Chinese culture appears as the harmonious structure of the "triple helix"dominated by Marxism.In hope of examining the origination of "cultural self-consciousness",we analyze the"axis" of "cultural self-consciousness" from the perspective of Marxist epistemology.Firstly,the "time axis" of "cultural self-consciousness" represents the subjective dimensions of culture.On the basis of practice,four factors have been formed.They are the awakening of subjectivity,the "cultural self-consciousness" of cultural elite,the accomplishment of cultural enlightenment and the reaction of "cultural self-consciousness" to the subject.They constitute the historical origin of "cultural self-consciousness".The present picture of "cultural self-consciousness" is capital logic restrains the "cultural self-consciousness" of the public.Therefore,In the future dimensions,the creativity,transcendence and value guidance of"cultural self-consciousness" should be internalized into the spiritual engine of the cultural subject.Secondly,The "space axis" of "cultural self-consciousness" represents the inter-subjective dimensions of culture.After investigating the inter-subjectivity in Chinese and western cultural space,we analysis the new form of dialogue and communication between them.Furthermore,basing on this philosophical foundation,we could construct a socialist country with powerful cultural advantages better.Analyzing "cultural self-consciousness" from the perspective of practical hermeneutics and practical philosophy of Marxism is to ask how "cultural self-consciousness" comes true.As a socialist "cultural self-consciousness",the inherent tension structure of "Marxism as the spirit,Chinese learning as the substance,Western learning as the fuction" needs to be clarified.The aim is to construct a kind of spiritual materialized "cultural self-consciousness".Culture gets "confidence" from "self-consciousness".Viewing from the perspective of practical hermeneutics,the cultural practice process from cultural confidence to "cultural self-consciousness" is realized through some courses in culture.They are the formation of new cultural vision from "effective-historical consciousness " to "world history",the formation of creative horizons from "reader's horizon" to "author's horizon",and the" hermeneutic cycle" from the internalization to the extemalization of the subject.During this period,five cultural forces are formed.Specifically,the cohesion force of the socialist core values is the cultural centripetal force manifested by "Marxism as the spirit,Chinese learning as the substance,Western learning as the fuction",which is the socialist "cultural self-consciousness".The driving force of the quality of people is realized in three dimensions of moral education,moral materialization and moral internalization.The driving force of culture on the transformation of the development mode is "economic culturalization".The innovation force of cultural industry is the re-exploration of "cultural economization".The attraction and influence of Chinese culture in the world is the result of four powers.They are hard power,soft power,skillful power and mixing power.The five cultural forces interact with each other and depict a cultural practice landscape of "five-force interaction".
