Study On Intellectual Narrative From The Perspective Of Thought And Culture(1978～1993)

China’s Reform and Opening up in 1978,makes the 1980 s come ahead of time.The true character of 1990 s appears after Deng Xiaoping’s southern speech in 1992,and the 1990 s lag to start.In this sense,I call the historical period from 1978 to 1993 the long 80 s.The 1980 s is a period that Chinese social and cultural structure has a profound change.The change leaves profound impact on the relationship between intellectuals and political power,between intellectuals and masses,between intellectuals and society,the structure of intellectual elite,and the cultural consciousness and identity consciousness,leading to a series of corresponding changes,including changes in literary narrative.80 s literature is born in the transition period of the social and cultural structure,therefore,the intellectual narrative in the 80 s is an integral part of the literary history in the 80 s,and is also an integral part of the culture and the issue in the 80 s.It determines the special position of the 80 s literature in the history of contemporary literature.How to understand and evaluate the literature of the 80 s,is obviously related to how to understand the literature from the 50 s to the 70 s,as well as the subsequent 90 s literature and the new century literature.The issue of 80 s may be traced to a cause or source,and part of which continues to today.The understanding and evaluation of the 80 s literature is still an issue that can inspire the vitality of thought.The 80 s is an unfinished era,it can be said that the study of 80 s literature,is also an unfinished work.From the perspective of thought and culture,the study of intellectual narrative of the 80 s is not to isolate the literature,thought and culture,but to study it in the context of the 80 s,which is based on the background of the whole twentieth Century.It is a kind of correction and supplement to the discussion of the contemporary literary history of fracture theory,and the concept of pure literature in the 80 s and the related linear history of literature writing.Therefore,this paper chooses the perspective of thought and culture,with the main methods of sociology of knowledge and Archaeology of knowledge,the integrated use of a variety of theoretical methods,devoted to analyzing the relationship of transition between the social and cultural structure,the overall ideology,the social identity and cultural consciousness of the intellectuals,and the literary narrative structure,as well as revealing the institutional and structural forces in the changes of the literary history and the spiritual history of intellectuals in the 80 s.Above all,it will make an intellectual criticism.The main body of this paper consists of five parts.First of all,the paper makes a theoretical and historical study of the concept of intellectuals.Intellectual is a modern concept,which does not have a self-evident definition of essentialism.Therefore,only through the analysis and research of different intellectual theory,can the real intellectual problem be presented.In addition,it is necessary to put it in the tradition of scholar-bureaucrats and modern social history to make a historical investigation and analysis.After the general discussion of the intellectuals,this paper successively discusses the four themes ranging from intellectuals and politics,intellectuals and revolution,intellectuals and enlightenment,to intellectuals and modernization.For the theoretical discussion of each theme,it is placed in the specific historical context of social transformation,combining the important literary works and related controversy,focusing on the investigation and analysis of the evolution of these themes in 80 s literature.With the change of political environment and goal,and the adjustment of intellectual policy,intellectuals became a part of the working class itself.Correspondingly,the relationship between literature and politics also has new adjustments and changes,including the literature and art system,the policy of literature and art,and the interaction between literature and politics,and so on.The adjustment of these relations is a historical process full of contradictions,conflicts and compromises.The revelation of the institutional and structural forces under the intellectual narrative and intellectuals is the key to understanding the intellectuals and literature of the 80 s.The 80 s is a post-revolution age.Re-understanding of the revolution presents the revolutionary narrative of intellectuals a new look.This paper not only examines and investigates the process of the transfer and evolution of revolutionary narrative in the 1980 s,introduces the relationship between modern revolutionary ideas and traditional Chinese revolutionary political discourse,revolutionary ideas and revolutionary practice,but also analyzes the internal consistency of intellectuals and revolutionaries.On the issue of intellectuals and enlightenment,this paper discuss from three aspects,ranging from the self-consciousness of intellectuals,the relationship between intellectuals and masses,to the image change of a special female intellectual Nora in the 80 s,and also makes a historical investigation and analysis on the process from the reconstruction of enlightenment to “the self-disintegration of enlightenment".For the theme of intellectuals and modernization,this paper discusses the narrative of literature in the relationship between political discourse of reform and opening up and the modern cultural consciousness as well as "modern social imagination" of intellectuals,concentrating on the issue of historicism and moralism in-depth theoretical analysis.
