In protecting and nursing culture diversity against globalization, and for the aim of building up a harmonious culture in Chinathe national ideological and political education needs not only take heed of a real lift of the working efficiency, it has to practice a role of arouser and leader of the modern value of ethnic culture growth and so as to enlarge the scope of the culture's worth.This claim is the logic starting point of the current research.From March2012to September2013, the researchers collected relevant literature about the cultural, ideological and political education in Dali area. Then questionnaires, interviews and other field works have been applied to investigate the ideological and political education in this area.The investigation was grouped into two phases. At the first phase we made use of a comprehensive methods including questionnaire, interviews and field work, during which we gained a panorama of the ideological and political education in Dali Bai ethnic area. At the second phase, with previous literature review, we did a field work to learn about the current ideological and political education on the base of Bai ethnic culture in this region.An objective and relatively wholly knowledge we gained of the ideological and political education in Dali Bai ethnic area lays the foundation of facts for the research.The unique ecological environment of Dali helps shape the special culture of Bai people. As one of the excellent ethnic cultures in China, Bai culture is the cultural foundation of Bai social structure and the resources for Bai cultural thinkings.Bai civilians'culture remains an alive culture in Dali daily life.Bai ethnic people have practiced an ideological and political education based on Bai culture in order to survive and keep the prosperity of Bai community for a long time.Therefore, a duality of education systems exist in Dali, that is, a national ideological and political education and an ideological and political education basing on Bai culture are both in practice in Dali Bai area.The ideological and political education basing on Bai culture is not an independent education form, but is a spontaneous and widespread type of culture in Dali area.The education makes full use of the culture space and field which are created by Bai culture. With longtime practice, it has gathered a rich contents of education covering the civil life and customs of Bai people. In the education, a series of education forces like Bai society, family, religious beliefs are fully assembled in manifesting the education via the approaches like practice of ceremonies, customs, local conventions and relative influences. This results in an all-around education pattern which exists any time and anywhere. In this way, the ideological and political education basing on Bai culture accomplishes the tasks of adapting Bai people to social life and keeping a sustainable and stable development and growing of Bai community.The education contents include a variety of special understanding of education principles and practice experiences, which are invaluable lessons for an effective carrying out of other ideological and political education in Dali area, and which can also widen the research field about how to carry out a national ideological and political education against the diverse culture background.Due to the lack of an effective correlation between the two patterns of ideological and political education, however, it results in two problems. For the first, some laggard and uncultured traits left from the farming society's ideological and political education keeps influencing Bai population in a negative way. For the second, the scientific thinkings and ideas, as a key element in the national ideological and political education, are unable to become the inner part of Bai people's scientific and thinkings and ideas due to those negative elements. The consequence of a duality education systems, in fact, brings about a waste of education value, and is an instance of the common feature and particular feature of national ideological and political education in Dali Bai area.The primary method to solve the problem of ideological and political education in Dali Bai area is to help the process of modernization of Bai culture. A successful transfer of Bai culture to a modernized one may get rid of its laggard and rotten elements because of the loss of the soil to nurture them. Meanwhile, the modernizing process may assimilate the ideological and political education basing on Bai culture and then form a logic tie between it and the national ideological and political education. Thus, a combined education force may come into being in Dali area.To construe a scientific tie between national ideological and political education with Bai culture, we need first recognize and treasure the special value of Bai culture in Dali area.
