According to the authoritative inquiry,26 percent of Chinese college students have suicidal ideation. Among the relationship of social events (including emergency) which cause the suicide of college students, life values is one of the important intermediary factor. Then, how life values affects college students'suicide ideation? On what extent? How about the status and function of life values in human values? About college students' suicide phenomenon, how should we carry out effective ideological and political education and psychological health and education work in colleges and universities? To solve these problems, it has the theoretical and practical importance on researching the characteristics of physical and mental changes as well as the realistic thoughts problems, exploring the rules of ideological politics education of the students in the new age, and carrying out the socialist core values education. Thus, it helps to cultivate the socialism builders and reliable successors.This paper uses dialectical materialism as a guide, integrating the basic theories of psychology, sociology, pedagogy and other disciplines, using the method of qualitative research and quantitative research, exploring the structure of college students' life values and the influence mechanism which college students' life values has on suicidal ideation, and the thoughts and countermeasures which help college students to establish correct life values. Firstly,through literature research and survey analysis confirmed the college students' life valuesincludes three dimensions and seven factors, three dimensions including the goals of life values(personal orientation, social orientation), the process of life values(make efforts, initiative solution, fantasy avoidance), the evaluation of life values(positive and optimistic, and the negative fate),establishing a system to measure students' life values, which is used to conduct questionnaire survey, describing and analyzing the current situation of college students' life values and characteristics. The result shows that the general situation of college students'life values is preferably. About the goals of life values, social orientation is higher than individual orientation; with regard to the process of life values, active solving and hard involving is higher than fantastic retreat; concerning the evaluation of life values, positive and optimism is higher than negative fate. Males pay more attention on individual orientation than females; the senior students'life values is much more mature; the students with a higher family income have a more positive attitude and they are initiative solving and hard involving; the students who do well in their study have a higher total points in life values and so on. Secondly, by the correlation analysis and regression among the college student life values and suicidal ideation' factors, this study put forward the function mechanism and theoretical model which testify that too much social orientation of life values target may strengthen the desperate attitude, while experience of the life values process of initiative solving and hard involving as well as the life values evaluation of positive and optimism can reduce one's desperate and increase the optimistic mood in order to slow down or lower the suicide tendency. According to this, it established the objective evidence of this paper for intervening and affecting the college students' suicidal tendency. Finally, based on the mechanism research models of student life values impact of suicidal ideation, this study take three countermeasures, helping college students to set up reasonable life value targets, strengthening positive life value experience, developing correct evaluation system of life value, to alleviate and eliminate college students' suicide ideas.
