Although considerable progress has been made in the development of lactic acid bacteria(LAB)engineering principles for winemaking,the stress resistance mechanisms and application of the bacterium Oenococcus oeni(O.oeni)remain challenging.Upon examination of O.oeni that had been sampled in northern China,we identified three previously unreported structural phenomena in the cell growth process of this bacterium.Due to improved experimental methods,here we show that budding and binary fission(Budding and Binary Fission,BBF)occur simultaneously in the growth process;we observe a novel structure,the pomegranate shaped structure(Pomegranate-shaped structure,PSS),which occurs mainly in the stationary and death phases;and we demonstrate that the symbiosis and circulation phenomena(Symbiosis and cyclical phenomena,SCP)are known throughout the different growth periods of the cell.These observational results provide compelling evidence that confirms and completes the bacterial cell growth process.In particular,our experiments identify a new structure that reveals the complex process of cell growth.These findings will aid in further comprehending the growth and development process of O.oeni,supplementing the known phases and providing new perspective into the complex growth period of this lactic acid bacterium.BBF,PSS and SCP form a complete understanding of the differences and identities of individual development of the cells.The primary conclusions were as follows:(1)Three previously unreported structural phenomena in the cell growth process of O.oeni,were investigated..(2)The existence of BBF in the experimental strains is not an accidental and isolated phenomenon in the growth process were revealed..(3)The morphologies of the strains at different growth stages are mainly spherical,chain-like,and PSS,with the latter structure revealing the complex growth process of the cell were explored..(4)This study indicated that the effects of autologous and environmental factors on these phenomena and the promotion and inhibition of cell growth to deepen our understanding of the structure and function of the cells..(5)A comprehensive investigation was carried out to the method sampling of FESEMand TEM,due to improved experimental methods,we are capable discover of these novel cell structure.
