Petroleum hydrocarbon pollutant is one of the main organic pollution in actual contaminated sites.Better analytical and monitoring methods of petroleum in contaminated sites are the hot and key study points because the components of the petroleum are extremely complicated. The matrix of groundwater would become complex due to the addition of remedial reagents. Thus, the dynamic deviation range should be reevaluated. In this study,a novel precise sectional analytical method of volatile petroleum hydrocarbon?VPH?was developed and the dynamic monitoring deviation was evaluated based on the petroleum contaminated site treated by hydrogen peroxide chemical oxidation. In addition, the method was applied to monitor and evaluate the petroleum pollutant changes in the actual contaminated sites. The main achievements were as followed.?1?A precisely qualitative and quantitative method of petroleum hydrocarbon was developed. The sectionalization of the method was based on precisely qualitative recognition rather than the retention time, and the petroleum hydrocarbon with C3-C12 can be quantified sectionally and exactly. Thus,we could monitor the carbon number changes of petroleum hydrocarbon pollutant in the treated contaminated site. The method detection limits of VPH with different numbers of carbon ranged from 0.22 to 2.24?g/L,and the accuracy of those were 3.89-9.27%.?2?“Dynamic monitoring deviation”was brought out by consecutive experiments design and the deviation range was evaluated. The results showed that the dynamic monitoring deviation of petroleum hydrocarbon with different numbers of carbon ranged from 4.02%to 54.09%,and that of BTEX were 3.89-32.12%.Therefore,in actual contaminated sites, degradation assessment only by single data analysis was very not reliable.?3?In actual contaminated site, analysis of multiple monitored data combined with some supplementary evidence was beneficial to assess the degradation degree of the contaminants. In this study, detection of C3-C5 were indicative to the degradation of the contaminants.?4?The 15 wells in a petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated site of Beijing were sampled successively and monitored dynamically for 3 times.Over 10 VOCs and over 50 petroleum hydrocarbon were identified. The dynamic changes of different petroleum hydrocarbons at different times were described according to the results of the samples. The results showed that more information would be obtained using the new developed method.Multi-monitoring data combined with dynamic monitoring deviation range would contribute to the evaluation of the contaminated sites objectively.
